Talked to Vander after he had his pic taken with a fan's sign, and told him that it would be great to call MU "memorial east", and he smiled and said "Marquette all the way!"  Also, he was pretty proud walking around in MU warm-ups.  We drove home giddy about the vibe, though we know to be patient.  Also, Tariq Black was having a great time talking to the crowd!

anyone at MM have more Black impressions?  I am encouraged by this post.

Many delusional posters over on the lunatics board.

As someone who's lived in mad-town his whole life and chose MU...best decision of my life. Although I hated tommy thompson, he was completely right in describing madison as "60 square miles surrounded by reality." In other words, I've learned life lessons at MU that I wouldn't have at UW. Also, I've gotten a personal education (through 2.5 years anyway) that I CERTAINLY wouldn't have gotten at UW as an English major. Most of all...I love the teaching of values and morals here at MU. I didn't really realize that until this year, but this school teaches you more than just information and facts...it teaches you life lessons and values you'll never forget...MU is a great choice vander, hope you choose us. If not, best of luck to you. Go MU!

Let's leave young Mr. Bowen out of this discussion.   He made his choice for his reasons.  Best of luck to him in finding a good fit.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

I grew up in Madison as well and chose Marquette.  It was a great decision, but the back and forth over what school is "better" is silly.  They are different types of schools.  Kids should choose where they go to school based on a number of factors, but the most important is "fit" - where they feel most comfortable.  For some kids, like myself 20+ years ago, that was Marquette.  For many others, it is UW.  They'll get a great education at either place.

Yeah, I just wish Marquette people would stay out of these threads.  They sound as silly as the Badger people do over here.

+1 the only people who would post over there are people who are trolls, or looking for a 'fight'.
