Hey guys... heading up for the Providence game later today and was wondering if anybody knew the quickest route to the BC from Chicago.  Last two times I headed up, I got stuck taking long detours.  Any suggestions?

get off on beecher. follow detour signs to 794. take 794 to Lincoln Memorial Dr. near Summerfest. Cut over.

But I think the exit near the BC is open now.

But I like to throw handfuls...

Do you have access to a helicopter?

Actually, the previous post is correct. Get off south of the Interchange around National or wherever and work your way north on 2nd/Water st.

There aren't any closures.  Don't take either of those routes!

Just go north thru the intersection on I43, and get off at McKinley, that takes you right by the BC.

mchange.org has a mapping service:

Just an observation for folks (like me until yesterday) who hadn't been to a game yet this year: Traffic was backed up pretty substantially at the old 13th Street exit area at about 12:10 or so. I'm going to get off at 26th Street when I'm down for the UL and Pitt games later this year. I actually skipped the 13th street exit yesterday; got on 794, got off a few blocks east of Water Street and worked my way back. Looked pretty bad.

Also, traffic was slow getting back onto I-94 at about 330-345 for the 27th Street exit. Going to go to 35th Street to get back on for the next two trips.

Were you trying to get off at 13th?  Or were you trying to go thru to I-43 North, then McKinley? (which you can do now.)

.. Going home, you could get on McKinley to I-43 South, then i-94 West. -- I did see that McKinley on-ramp was quite backed up, but I think it goes quick, as there's two lanes and the lights batch the flow pretty well.  Could be wrong.

hilltoppers correct, McKinley's whole intersection is redesigned, and is supposed to be servicing the grunt of the downtown traffic.

It is setup speedy, especially with high volumes of traffic.

(Coming from La Crosse) I was trying to get off at the old 7th street Civic Center exit, but saw the back-up and passed. I always used to get on the freeway after games off that circular exit to the left after going over the bridge on Highland between 10th and 11th, but IIRC that's not available, so then up to 17th, but now that's not available IIRC, so up to 29th. The underpass to get on at 6th and Kilbourn is only for 43 North yet, correct? Don't mind driving through campus on my way out anyways, just to see if anything has changed.

McKinley.  McKinley.  McKinley.  McKinley.

McKinley is by far the best route from the North, South, and West.  I can't speak from complete experience, but I can't imagine there being a back-up on that off-ramp going to the game.  McKinley is 4 lanes wide, and drops you right off at the BC.  They should just rename it "Bradley Center Exit".

Going home, I'd still take McKinley.  It may be slightly backed up, as there are lights that control the intersection, but they're double lanes and let through huge batches of cars at a time.  It may take a few cycles to go South (then you can go West on I94) .. but that's not too bad.

Going North, there's no waiting, as it's a right turn.
