Let's hope he never makes it there...

Dear Vander and Vander's Family Members...

Let me clarify that this poster very likely meant that he would commit to Marquette beforehand, not that anything sinister would happen to him.

Sincerely,

The only thing sinister that can happen to Vander at this point is re-committing to the UW.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Or getting tear-gassed on State Street.  I wouldn't send my high-school aged son to UW@Madison over Halloween weekend.

The kid lives in Madison. Im sure he has a pretty good idea of what will be going on.

Then he probably already knows it's the most overrated "event" in the state...

I don't know about that, as I had a blast there back in the early 2000s.  A lot more fun than Halloween on MU's campus.

I was there in 2002 - State Street was tear gassed and looked like a riot, had some buddies in one of the larger frats and that party sucked hard.

I happened to be there for work a couple years ago so I stayed with some buddies that live in Madison and they wouldn't let me cross through State Street without a ticket.  I wasn't drunk nor even in a costume, just wanted to get to the other side.

Overrated.

It used to be fun before mayor cheesewiz took office in madison. He's really gone a long way in making that town lame...take it from someone who lives there...

you can thank the city council at least as much as Mayor Dave.

I can tell you that back in the early 80's, the only place that rivaled Mad-town on Halloween was Southern Illinois.  Both too much fun at Halloween...
HILLTOP SENIOR SURVEY from 1984 Yearbook:

For anyone going to Madison for Halloween, EAT has an open invite for any MU student or alum each year to hang out and dry out at his crib afterwards if you've had too much to drink. Just bring your own bucket and mop to clean up your mess.

Wisc. is not having A MM this year because of a hockey game at the KC.  Also, Vander is taking his official visit to UW over the halloween weekend!

Hopefully he is not hanging out with former Badger star Booker Stanley.

Booker got in trouble during the Mifflin Street Block Party...not Halloween.

PBRme

How about moving the Halloween in Madison discussion to the Superbar, I opened this thinking it was about recruits at MM

I know, but my point was more former notable Badger athletes getting into trouble at major Madison street parties.

But more importantly, I am pumped to see Tarik Black on that list.  He would be a REALLY nice get.  And another prime example of one of those recruits where MU doesnt appear on his Scout or ESPN list, but we are still very much in the game.

Yes.  You came up with one.  From four+ years ago.

As stated many times...Do not pay attention to the "lists" on Scout/Rivals/ESPN. All of these sites have good content, but, the lists are often the last thing to get updated...and thus, are very out of date.

Read the articles, dig deep and you will find the info.

I was more pointing it out because too many people get disheartened when we are not on these lists and start worrying about "all our top prospects going elsewhere".  I am pretty much at ease about the whole situation and am confident this class will fill out well as opposed to when we lost Shumpert a few years back and I was crushed.

So he's going to our MM, where he'll be enticed to join a team that fits his style of play at a school that lives and dies with its basketball team.  He can't go to UW's Midnight Madness because football and hockey make basketball irrelevent until March since the basketball team is too boring to watch.

The fun is correlated directly with whether or not you were beaten badly by a Badger football player.  More fun equals less beatings and vice versa.
