If you live(d) in Chicago, would you be in favor of having the Olympics here in 2016?

HellzYa!
HellzNo!
I lack the backbone to have an opinion.
I've been going back and forth on it...

I know, I know... by the time most will vote in this poll, the decision will have been already made whether or not Chicago will be hosting the 2016 Olympics.
The positives:
Chicago on the world stage- boost in tourism for years to come
Chicago's infrastructure (transportation/buildings/parks) will likely be improved
Economic stimulus to many businesses/industries

The negatives:
Higher property/sales taxes to pay for everything in an already costly Cook county.
More traffic congestion throughout the city caused by the increase in construction
Didn't Atlanta have a terrorist attack?

I was going to vote, but generally I don't answer with 'z's.

I voted no for the reasons on your list as well as one other 1 - I don't want to hear about the olympics every day for the next 7 years.  I'm already sick to death of the constant coverage - I can't imagine what it will be like as the date approaches.  Oh, and you forgot about the corruption and the notion that if the olympics get it, it might mean daley sticks around.  Oh god no, please give it to rio!

Isn't it hard to read with your nose in the air?
