I wonder what Robert Montgomery Knight has to say on the subject.

Blackhat

Have no real opinion on the man.   Not a fan of the NCAA as an organization cause they leave much to be desired.   Not sure what his major accomplishment is.  RIP Myles Brand though.

He was President of IU when I was there....ultimately responsible for firing Knight.  I think his biggest accomplishment is the APR and putting in a system now that punishes programs for not graduating players or transferring out.  It's not a perfect program by any means, but a start.  He approached his job from the viewpoint of a president not an athletic person.  Sometimes the NCAA needs that to remind everyone this is about student athletics and not a minor leagues for the Pros....at least to some extent.  We all know the realities with football, basketball, baseball and hockey that the college level is a minor league training ground, but he was at least attempting to make them act like students from time to time.

Would love to see Knight put aside his petty feuds and show up at the funeral. At least make some nice public comments about the guy.

Maybe the feuds aren't petty to him. And, why does he have to make nice public comments about the guy? To make you feel better?

It's a large world. Not everyone has to like all the people.
