Golden Eagle Spotlight - Men's Basketball - September 9, 2009

GoMarquette.com catches up with Maurice Acker, Junior Cadougan, Darius Johnson-Odom, Jeronne Maymon and Youssoupha Mbao on one of the team's rare off-days to get their thoughts on the opening weeks of class and the rapidly approaching 2009-10 campaign.

Do we think Jen knows how many players are on a basketball court during a game?

Seriously though, good to see these guys have taken Buzz's 1% a day mentality to heart.  Interesting to see all three newcomers mention hard work and tempo as reasons they chose Marquette.  DJO is very well-spoken.

How do you see Yous' interview because they couldn't fit it on the front page?

Nevermind I figured it out.

DJO is going to be my fav this season.

NC bred...born through the JUCO...explosiveness, strength... yeah, I look forward to some crazy ahs dunks.

Also, JM says that he chose Marquette because it's "an uptempo team" and they don't like "to play a lot of zone."

Are you listening, Vander? ;)

I like DJO and Jeronne.  Both well spoken and seem outgoing.  Looking forward to seeing all the guys of course.  interviewer girl is awkward though and she is like an overactive listener and says ok good too much hahha

It was great putting faces and voices and even personality together with names.  DJO looks the part.

I thought it was great that when jen started each interview with something like "Thankyou for being here"  most of the guys said "Thanks for having me", or "Nice meeting you".  Not Maymon.  He replied, "Your welcome."  I think that's awesome.

Maymon is huge...literally huge.
I love how each player had their own reasons for coming to MU but it all came down to three points.
style of play (exciting)
work ethic (gets you ready for the next level)
Marquette/BigEast (listening to Jr. talk about the guys that played their before him was pretty awesome!)

I am xcited to watch these cats the next few years!!!
