Odd question
« on: February 01, 2007, 11:29:39 AM »
Has anyone been over to the new forums at Scout?  Is it just me, or do the pages load so slow that you'd rather be doing your taxes? I was actually trying to navigate the Providence board, but MarquetteHoops.com looked to be the same speed.

Just trying to figure out if it's my PC/Browser/Java...or a common problem.  I've tried Firefox and IE and they're both slow...

Tried it last night and it was so slow I bailed.  Was even thinking about praising you guys for the speed of this site.

Ok, at least I'm not the only one.  I started looking for comments/ideas about the speed over there, but it was taking so long to load each thread I gave up and decided to ask the question here.  :-\

We'll take the praise - though every site probably goes through growing pains.  MUScoop started off in such a flurry that after the first few weeks we were using up all our CPU cycles.  We then decided to take the big jump to a dedicated server, so we should now have the horsepower to get us smoothly through a couple more years.
