HYANNIS, Mass. – Maria Shriver recalls her mother as both a "fearless warrior for the voiceless" who could make politicians quake, and a trailblazing woman who smoked Cuban cigars and played tackle football.

Shriver eulogized her mother, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, at a private funeral Mass Friday. Shriver, the sister of President John F. Kennedy and founder of the Special Olympics, died Tuesday at the age of 88.

Family and friends including Vice President Joe Biden, Oprah Winfrey, and Stevie Wonder packed the church. Special Olympians led a funeral procession with the Olympic torch.

Shriver's brother, Sen. Edward Kennedy, did not attend the funeral. He has been battling brain cancer.
