You sure?  His bio always stated he chose Marquette over Illinois and Florida (this is when Florida had not become the Florida we know about now)

Hmmm...you could be right there.....too much hops in the brain between then and now.....
But I like to throw handfuls...

Calvin Rayford chose Kansas ahead of MU.

Yup...I would walk to class with him every once in awhile when we were both there at the same time....that is when he felt the need to go.  Gilbert Brown, Dana Stubblefield and Calvin Rayford.....it was pretty darn funny watching those three walking together.   ;D

Interestly, Rayford left but never played much because he was behind Jacque Vaughn.  If he comes to MU, do we end up with Tony Miller?  Hmmm....

Rivals lists UNC along with Illinois, Florida, Purdue, USC and Wisconsin

As I recall shortly before he committed to MU he visited UNC--perhaps UNC cooled on him during that visit.

Thanks....I wonder why MU didn't include that in his bio then....would seem to be something to say "chose MU over UNC", but instead they listed Florida and Illinois.

Go figure

augoman

how about Jim McIlvaine-  might be wrong but I thought he had UCLA offer...?

UNC recruited but never offered Novak, he says so himself in an interview with Rivals from right after he committed to MU.  Illinois and Florida did offer, so they make the list.

He did and as I recall when he narrowed it to two he was quoted saying that he liked UCLA because of the eye candy there. I liked his candor.
