Surprised I didn't find anything on here about this.  Everyone must have gotten the full season plan this year.   :D

Anyway, nothing big changes from last year, still $15 seats ($75 total) and $25 seats ($125 total).  The cheaper option went away because those seats are now $99 full season tickets.

Blue Plan:
Villanova
Georgetown
Pittsburgh
North Carolina State
Rutgers

Gold Plan:
Louisville
Notre Dame
DePaul
Providence
USF

Looks like they decided to skip the low-bill non-conference games for the 5-packs this year.  Those actually seem fairly appealing, especially the blue plan.

TJ

They have been doing that for a couple years now.  I know last year the 2 5-packs included all 9 Big East games and the Wisconsin game.

Do you think DJ, McNeal, & Wes's jerseys will be retired and if so, do you think it will happen this year?  I think McNeal for sure, since he is the all time leading scorer of all time at Marquette.

martyconlonontherun

Anyone know when the complete schedule will be announced with dates and times?

Be realistic, retire there numbers this year? Cmon, you dont honestly think that should happen?

Jerel will likely have his go up there eventually, but theres some others that need to be put up before him.  I cant see DJ or Wes ever going up.

Wes & DJ have no chance.

Jerel will probably make it up due to his records, but I don't feel right about it. He needs to wait 10+ years to see how his numbers stand up, and if he's still there, retire away.

None of them should be retired...at least until #34 is retired for Tony Smith/Diener/McIlvaine

T-Bone

Back on track (start a jersey retirement thread - not to sound like a jerk, but it deserves separate attention).

It looks like they're really trying to get the ND haters to bite on the Gold Plan - DePaul, Prov. and Augustus Gloopchrist are not compelling reasons to buy that plan.

So if Jerel McNeal retains his scoring record for the next decade, he doesn't deserve to be up there?

PuertoRicanNightmare

I'm not sure he does deserve to have his number retired.

You're right; seems my memory is at fault here.  I'd thought they packed some of the buy-in games with UW last year but seems it was just DePaul and Seton Hall that everyone was up in arms about.  Couldn't find the news releases for previous years but doesn't really matter much.

I think their numbers will all be retired eventually.  Might take a year or 2.

I dunno, man.

I don't see how you can not retire the leading scorer in history (with a program as good as MU).

I know George was a better player and did it in less time, I know Wade was a once in a lifetime player and would have broken George's record. I know if Travis didn't get hurt, he would have passed George.

But still, in all of the years of the program, nobody has had a 4 year run quite like McNeal. A ton of career wins, tons of points, defensive awards, all conference awards, etc. etc.

Probably should wait a few years to reflect on it, but I think you've got to consider McNeal.

PuertoRicanNightmare

Is he one of the best 10 players in Marquette history? I hardly think so. Hanging his number from the rafters would suggest he is.

And there is no way either James or Matthews should even be considered. Let's be real here, people. They had some decent numbers due to games played but their success as a team was only marginal. Two NCAA wins in 4 years hardly calls for immortality!

Agree with PRN.  It was great to have them for four years and enjoy all the bumps in the road.

4everwarriors

It's confusing. Are we retiring jerseys or numbers? In any regard, skip the 3 latest seniors.

ehhh. I see where you are coming from.

I dunno, maybe in a few years I'll have some more perspective. No rush to retire it anyways.

Edit: As a follow-up, if McNeal isn't in the top 10, where is he? For me, he's very close (if not in) the top 10, but I'm a younger guy, so I can only go off of stats for a lot of the older players.

As far as the jerseys vs numbers debate, that was all Crean's fault, and he's no longer here. No need to debate that.

TallTitan34

Wes and DJ won't have their numbers retired but I can't see how Jerel wouldn't someday down the road.  He is the all-time leading scorer and stealer, in addition to being towards the top of the top 10 of several other categories.

muarmy81

Would have to agree that mcneal will eventually get his retired.  With regards to "team" success during his tenure at MU, I don't think that team accomplishments should weigh that heavily on an individual honor.

I am in no way advocating for all three getting retired.  I think it should just be Jerel.  In terms of team success though he did start for 4 years and every team went to the NCAAs.   Lets not kid ourselves.  4 NCAAs in a row is a pretty big deal at MU.

I bought the Blue paln this afternoon for the Mrs. & I. I wanted to wait until the dates were announced because we'll be in Negril for 10 days in February but I also wanted to get some decent seats while I could and I like where these are located, Sec. 443 on the aisle
