After DJ going down and Wes injuring his big toe (questionable for Vegas), Jerel's the last Amigo standing.
He'll be wearing #22.

Jerel's covering Curry from the Warriors.

fFnal line - 25 mins, 8 pts (4-4 FG), 2 rebs, 1 assist, 2 steals.

He had a rough time covering Curry.

These games are pretty much every man for themselves...especially with Tyreke Evans on your team. If you are lucky enough to touch the ball on a possession, there is no giving it up.

You got that right. Curry was abusing him in the 2nd half though he struggled in the 1st.

Evans, Greene, Casspi and JT were black holes on that team. At least Jerel was 100% from the field. :/

Curry is an NBA starter and all rookie team candidate.  He is as technically and fundamentally sound a player in the draft as you will see.  Wonderfully skilled player, one of those players that does not possess the uber athleticsm that gets many of these kids by, he does it with amazing skill and IQ.

Is this thought a result from watching the game or looking at the box score? Curry scored 29, but shot a very poor 8-22, although he did get to the line and made up for his FG% by hitting 10-11 FT's. That guy is going to score points in the league, but if he's around 40% his team isn't going to benefit much from it. He's a chucker.

I watched the last 2ish minutes of the 1st half, and pretty much all of the second half.  Jerel had a few nice defensive plays, but Curry was, for the most part, doing what he wanted to.  He was blowing by Jerel on drives, and hitting J's in his face.

I think Curry started 0-7.

Curry just had to get going and feel comfortable with the flow of the game.

He really tested Jerel with his quick release, and made some really good moves on Jerel on fastbreaks.

To his own detriment, Jerel hangs out at the 3pt line far too often. If he continues and doesn't assert himself more into the offense, I'm afraid he's D-League or Euro bound.

I thought the same thing...but when Tyreke Evans (8-19), Donte Green (5-17), Omri Casspi (4-11) and Jason Thompson (5-10) are doing what they do...there aren't many shots left for Jerel. Hell, Marcus Landry shot 7 threes!

When he got the ball in a good position, he attacked the hoop and scored.

Yep. I guess he's just trying to demonstrate control and playing within his own abilities.

But 4-4, though impressive as a FG percentage, isn't going to "Wow" someone into signing them onto your team.

Personally (call me crazy), I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Wes becomes the back-up SG on the Bulls.  He gives them more size and would be able to match up defensively a little better against someone else's 2, he turns the ball over less, and he gives you depth at the 2 and 3 positions.

That said, I'd be happy as hell to have either of our boys in a Bulls uniform!

He does hate being out there, but it's not like he's going to bad-mouth a current or former team.  Just like in a normal job interview you're not supposed to bitch about former employers.

Wait....this can't be right.  People on this very board told me that the reason San Antonio traded Bruce Bowen was because they were going draft McNeal as their next defensive stopper.

Are you guys serious? Wes Matthews SENIOR has a better chance of playing with the Bulls next season.

Look, I love the contributions these guys made to Marquette but they're not NBA players!

Novak has a skill that makes him one of the best of what he does in the country and it took him until last year...with an atrocious team...to get any minutes. And even those minutes can best be labeled "erratic." Diener doesn't get any minutes.

Suggesting Wesley Matthews can be a contributor to a playoff team is absurd.

Diener is a back up point guard who has averaged 15.3 minutes per game in his career to date.  How many minutes do you expect a back up point guard to get?

Please. Equating the sports world with the "real" world is silly. If you're a free agent with no intention of re-signing with the team you just played with, there is little harm in being honest that you didn't like the set-up.

Not saying Novak should drop that "the Clippers suck ass and it was a shitty place to be" but he doesn't have to be effusive in his faux-praise like he was with Rosiak last week.

So you think he'll sign with the Suns?

He's a restricted free agent, which means it is very likely that the Clippers will be his best option.  He's smart not to bitch about them publicly.  That doesn't mean that his agent isn't letting them know he doesn't want to be back privately.

Someone like Novak that hasn't had a ton of play-time thus far in his career would be doing himself a real disservice by coming off as a malcontent when he could very well be heading back to the Clippers next year.  Even if he wasn't headed to the Clippers, they haven't released him yet.  If I were a betting man I'd wager that he's very careful about nurturing that nice-guy image... especially since it isn't a facade.

Novak has little if any leverage. Who gives a hoot what his agent may say.
