Just got word from a source saying that Dominic has been taken off of the roster and will be replaced by Amir Johnson.

Also Paul Delaney has been added to the roster.

Probably because of he knee injury right?

Time to head to Europe.

Warrior of Law

Do you think he will play professionally in Europe, at least at a high level?  The Euro game focuses on perimeter shooting to the extent that I think his skills aren't a great match.

If any team is looking for a shooter they won't be looking at D.James.  If they're looking for a quick pure point guard that will have a high Assist to TO ratio then they'll take a strong look at DJ (as long as he can stay healthy).

{Juggernaut}

I feel bad for DJ.  He was having a very good year, then injuries hit.  It was a shame he never caught a break at the end of this year.  I would have really liked to see him make a D league team some where.

What are his choices from here?

Well, if he can't play professionally in Europe, he can't play in the NBA.

DJ will be playing with mid-level clubs, but if he can stay healthy, he's a freakish athlete that people will go to see, which is important in the European game.

I wish Buzz would make him an assistant coach.  Love his heart and desire.

God Shamgod thrived for a long time in Europe but was never able to crack into an NBA lineup.  Like James, he was an excellent point guard and could get too any spot on the floor but had no jump shot.

Well, Shammgod thrived more in China than Europe.  You have to really love to play to put together a career like this:

In summary:

NBA
CBA
Venezuela
Dominican Republic
Poland
USBL
China
Saudi Arabia
Taiwan
China
IBL
Kuwait
China
Croatia
IBL

And he's still playing!

He has a chance to make money in Europe. Why would he sign on to be a graduate assistant?

OK, let him try that first, then come back as an assistant coach, not graduate asst.  Timeframe not the issue, but his recurring injuries are.  I wish him all the best.

What qualifies him to jump in and be an assistant coach at a High Major D1 school?  Dont say "heart and desire"...

Not even going to waste my keystrokes on this.

Niv's still playing professionally (in Israel).  If Niv can make a team, DJ can make a much better team.

Really...explain yourself...I would love to hear what you have to say.

What qualifies DJ to be a High Major D1 coach? Coaching experience...Experience in running a program...recruiting network...does he have any of these?

He has dues to pay.  I would be extremely disappointed if MU hired an assistant coach with no credentials other than having "heart and desire."

Become a GA, then a COBO, then a DOBO, then we can talk.

I wonder what would have been if he left after his freshman year...

Someone should tell Brian Wardle that he's doing it wrong making the jump from D-league to DBO at MU under Crean to an assistant coach at UWGB.

You don't have to follow such a regimented route.  Cuonzo Martin became an assistant coach at Purdue pretty much after his professional career ended in 2000.  He's now the head coach at Missouri State.  He was never a GA or even a DOBO.

DJ would be a GOD in the Philippines.

The steps I suggested were not meant to be a required path that one MUST follow...but rather some of the steps along the way that coaches generally take.

DomJamesToTheBasket

DJ could easily play for a top team in Europe. I hope he goes that route rather than the NBDL. There's millions to be made overseas and a much better chance to parlay success into an NBA contract. His athleticism over in Europe will allow him to continue his lockdown defense......his offense might get kick started too. Jumpshooting bigs are going to open up some lanes for him.

Oh man...thanks for the shoutout, 77!

He really would, though.  I have a bunch of Filipino channels via satellite (DirecTV, wsup Chicos) but sadly nothing but the basic American networks, and sometimes I'll watch Filipino pro basketball and the only athletes are the "imported" guys...so yeah, DJ would kill 'em over there.

You got THAT right, pare!

Filipinos adore anyone their height who can ball.

If DJ goes there, he'll have his own maid, chauffeur, get mobbed everywhere he goes...he'd be treated like a king.
They may even allow him to host "Wowoweee!"(GREAT SHOW!)
