1. I am not an ESPN insider, does anyone have a link I can go to, to get the latest Bracketology?  Where are we seeded right now, who does Lunardi have us playing and where?

2. Just got into a discussion with some jag Badger fan about Tucker and McNeal.  He says Tucker was far better than McNeal at the same point in his career, I disagreed and checked the stats, the stats favor McNeal.  Any thoughts?

As a fan of both MU and UW (UW for undergrad, MU for law school) I'd say their sophomore year (Tucker's third year, due to injury) they seem pretty even.  Tucker was the leading scorer of that Badger team with 15.2 ppg on a team that was averaging 67.4 ppg, or 22.5% of the offense.  McNeal represents roughly 20% of MU's offense (14.6/73.5).  Tucker was getting about a board and a half more a game.  McNeal definitely has Tucker beat on defensive stats, although McNeal turns the ball over 2 times more per game than Tucker did at this point in his career.  I'd say at this point they are fairly even.

I am more intrigued as to how Jerel will perform next year when/if DJ goes pro at the end of the year.  If he is receptive to some tweaks in his game (watching where he is dribbling  :)) I see no reason why he couldn't go pro as a Gilbert Arenas type combo guard (I'm just comparing their styles, McNeal would have to become a much better 3 pt. shooter to have GA's game).

You don't need to be an insider to view bracketology. It's updated weekly (I think on Tuesdays) and usually headlines ESPN's men's basketball page when the new projections come out. As for the latest edition (Jan 24), Lunardi has us as a 3 seed in Columbus vs. Toledo/MAC Champ. Here's the link...
