Apparently the NBA combine has been measuring how high guys can reach from a no-step jump and with a running start. These measurements were never released, but are now available at draftexpress. Dwyane Wade was able to reach 11'5" with a running start. Jerel McNeal reached 11'4". Who would've guessed similar numbers there??? Steve Novak got up to 11'2" so it turns out he could probably throw down some decent dunks. Travis Diener only reached 10'4"......he is one of the few guys in the league that can't throw it down.  While Travis' jumping numbers are horrible, Jared Jordan makes him look like Vince Carter. His no-step vertical was an impossibly pathetic 14.5" and his no-step reach was an even more embarrassing 9'0.5".......that's not even getting net!!!

Here's the link:

P.S. Those who don't think McNeal is fast or quick enough to play the point should check his agility and sprint time against the PG's.  He makes the cut with ease.

I didn't see his measurements, so I can't say for sure if you meant his no-step jump or just his reach, but a standing reach of 9'0.5" is him just standing flat footed and reaching up.  That has nothing to do with his jumping ability.

That's how high he can reach with his no-step vertical jump. Jared Jordan is not dispelling the "white men can't jump" thought. Joe Alexander, on the other hand, blows that myth out of the water.....he was able to reach 12'0.5"
