Some clarification on Williams

Erik Williams' coach at Cypress Springs High School, John Harmatuk, contacted me this morning regarding the incoming freshman's foot issues.

The screw in Williams' left foot, as it turns out, is not bent as Williams had said.

"The screw in Erik's foot is not bent," Harmatuk said via email. "That was a mis-diagnosis from a local doctor who read the X-ray incorrectly. Besides Erik getting the best treatment possible, this is one of the reasons we went to Dr. Clanton. Dr. Clanton is the doctor that gave Erik the all clear two weeks ago.

"Part of the all clear was to determine if the screw was intact and to see if the bone healed enough to handle the rigors of major college basketball."

So, there you go.

Williams' foot is obviously something that bears watching when he arrives at MU -- especially considering all the problems the Golden Eagles and other signees have had with them in the last year or so -- but to this point everything appears to be fine.

You can bet coach Buzz Williams, for one, is pleased by that.

Ok - glad the coach contacted Rosiak on that error.  Feeling better about the foot now.

If he *had* bent the screw - it would seem that the bone might have been moving a bit much to be "healed"!

It's nice to receive what appears to be good health news for a change. We will need EW to give us some serious minutes in 09-10.
Now, if we can just get a good word on Liam . . . .

Regardless I'm sure he'll miss a considerable amount of time a some point.  Unless he totally sucks...then he will never get hurt.
