Curious what you cats feel the atmosphere will be tomorrow at the Taco Bell Arena. UW plays the first game and as we all know, the Warriors commence 20 minutes after its conclusion. So, do the good guys (that includes you too, Eric) support the Badgers vs. Xavier and/or does Wisky give a rat's ass whether we advance to the Sweet 16 and conduct themselves in kind?

I'd guess there are more MU fans who also root for UW, than vice versa, and that's accounting for UW's 10x alumni/fan base.

StillWarriors

I was in MN in '03, and sitting next to some Badger fans. As soon as their game ended, they reached under their seats and pulled out bags with gold shirts for the MU game. Have to say I was pretty impressed by the show of support. That is an isolated example, but would be nice if it happened again.

I'll be pulling for X though b/c my brother went there and was a mgr under Prosser. They are always fun to watch, and a great contrast with UW's style. X's only big weakness this year is at the point. They turn the ball over too much, but I doubt UW can exploit that. Muskies by 12.

I think the place can be supportive of both teams.

-Both fan bases cheer for both teams. As rivals, we probably "shouldnt", but i could see it happening...but what the hell, why not?
-Seeing as we are both considered underdogs...the "neutrals" at the Arena will probably end up pulling for both teams. In my experience (3 times at the BC) that is how it works...the neutral fans usually get behind the lower seeded teams.

I think we'll get some love.......

Considering we're in completely different reigons (and wouldn't even meet until the national championship game), if both UW and MU fans want to root for each other in Boise, I don't see why not.

Still won't change my rooting habits, though.   ;D

Since the UW and MU fans, as well as Mizzou and Xavier for that matter will represent a very small minority of the total in attendance, I would say it will be a good day to be an underdog. Those without a rooting interest will almost always get behind the underdog.

That said, I expect the MU and UW fans to get behind one another.

I imagine Bucky fans will be fairly sad after receiving an absolute thrashing, so I forgive them if they don't stick around and cheer for Marquette.

Hope you are right, Jay Bee, but I don't think Xavier will be doing any thrashing. I could see UW keeping this real close.

I think it will be a close game and give UW-Madison a 40% chance of winning.  Xavier hasn't been hitting on all cylinders this year.
