The local CBS affiliate is showing Michigan State-USC over Marquette-Missouri.
Idiots. I've got to believe the combined Mizzou/Marquette presence in Chicago is at least equal to that of MSU.

What about cable?  ESPN or something?

uhhhh....considering cbs owns the rights to the NCAA tournament broadcasts, unless you have the on demand channels, I don't think you will be able to see it. Go to a bar or stream on justintv if you don't want to do that.

Sure, probably so, but the combined presence of Illinois, UW-Madison, Northwestern, Purdue...will blow that population away. The game is directed at Big 10 fans, not MSU fans. Combined Big East and Big 12 population would not come close the the Big 10 crowd in Chicago.

Its always bothered me that MU is not considered a 'local' school given its proximity to Chicago.  If Southern Illinois was playing at the same time as MSU they would show the Southern Illinois game even though the school is 7 hours south of the Chicago area.  If Northern Illinois was playing at the same time as MSU they would put the Northern Illinois game on even though the fan base for Northern is much less than the Big Ten in the Chicago and Northern is about the same distance from Chicago as Marquette!

If DePaul were playing at the same time as UW-Green Bay, any guesses which would be shown locally in Milwaukee?

OK then.

Any suggestions where to go NW Chicago?

I got to tell you, the NCAA tournament package is the way to go.

I switched to DirecTV when the MLB package was going to be exclusively on DirecTV (and it would be the only way to watch my beloved Red Sox). Well, as you know, shortly after I arranged the switch Congress intervened and cable has the MLB package. I don't know about other parts of the country, but here cable has the better picture (it NEVER goes out while DirecTV craps out whenever there is bad weather and the HD channels are quite fickle even in good weather), DirecTV offers no package where I can get the Connecticut stations (which come standard with cable), DirecTV's customer service is the absolute worst I have ever dealt with for any company for any reason (though cable was only a little better), but I haven't switched back to cable simply for the first weekend of the NCAA tournament.  I host a Thursday NCAA party where some of my friends and family take the two days off from work to just enjoy the tournament.  My sister and brother-in-law host the Friday party.  To me, its worth all of the other crap just for that weekend.
