Picking against Samuel L. Jackson.  Has us losing to Memphis, only because of the James injury.

Wade for President

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the shameless plugs to MU.  Wade and Marquette go hand and hand.

Where does DWade have Indian...? - oh yeah, that's right!

Yet on PTI yesterday he did not even say a simple "go Marquette"...

To be fair they didn't ask him about the tournament...but still at the end of the interview instead of inviting the guys to Miami, a go Marquette would have been nice. ;)

Yet another unflattering story about DWade in Chicago Trib yesterday. He was fired from his endorsement contract with a chain of charter schools originally named after him. Wade was dismissed for not meeting his marketing campaign and public appearance obligations allegedly.

Have to wonder what's going on with him. Granted there is always another side to the story and people may have an ax to grind etc...,but it is hard to believe all this stuff is coming out of nowhere.

While it is unfair to expect any of these guys to be perfect, the stories of late are a little disconcerting and disappointing. He's been such a great representative of MU...hate to see that tarnished.

He sure is playing incredibly these days though.

Great plugs on Sportscenter. "MARQUETTE in ALL CAPS."   Do NBA players follow college hoops (other than alma mater) with enough frequency to make insightful picks?  How valuable is a NBA player's take?  And where are Diener's and Novak's brackets?

I agree with you.

However, I have to wonder if maybe the Dwade "brand" has been spread too thin, and that's why some of this "stuff" is coming out.

Several of the things that have come up could be attributed to poor business decisions rather than strictly character flaws.

Anyways, the truth will probably come out...

You might be right about spreading too thin on the business stuff. Makes sense.

Some of the other more personal stuff is far more damaging if true. You are right, to some extent the truth will likely come out.

MU in Miami

Do we have to rehash rumors & trash talk about our highest profile player?  A nice article about Dwyane and MU killed in less than 10 posts.

Wade out tonight vs. Celts...

1. I don't know if a contract dispute with a charter school should reflect negatively on the guy.  He does have a ton of other endorsements where there doesn't seem to be any problems.

2. There was a story that his wife said he gave her herpes from cheating.  She later recanted it.

3. There were also allegations of infidelity in the marriage.  We've all seen his ex-wife.  If you can honestly say you would have remained faithful to her with the quantity/quality of ass that is likely thrown at him on South Beach . . . you're an impressive man.

I'm not sure that there were any other negative stories.

I believe he also had a restaurant venture that folded, with some ugly allegations from his business partner.

I recall an article from a while back, where Pat Riley was saying something to the effect of "Dwyane's got to learn to leave a little bit on the table" and not stretch himself so much.  Dwyane's response was along the lines of "nah.  I want it all".

Maybe Riley was onto something.

It was a sports grill/BBQ place.  One opened in Fort Lauderdale & quickly folded - the previous tenant was a Houston's & even they could not make it that location.  A second was to open off of 163rd, but never did.  It's too bad.  One of the investors ended up suing him, but I think it was just a matter of failed restaurant venture.  I never went there more than once.
