Are you a glutton for punishment?  It has taken me this long to finally remove the sharpened pencils from my eyes. :)

Just wanted to see Jerel's last shot again because to be honest with you I saw it live, no replays during the telecast.  I thought he forced it and his teammate was wide open on the other side of the basket for a game winning dunk.  BUT, I have heard many say that he was fouled - perhaps I was focused too much on the teammate, but I didn't see the foul, and I would like to know who the teammate was - just wondering, because my recollection of the events may be wrong.

Ok--I will share the video link...but I strongly suggest you grab a bottle of whiskey and hide all the knives in the house...McNeal last shot starts around the 6:30 mark.  Report back so I can guarantee your personal safety for my insurance indemnification purposes.

Ok, thanks Pardner.  I'm going to be fine - deep breaths, happy thoughts, let it go, let it go......

I don't think he was fouled - that's a call I don't think you could make.  It was Jimmy Butler, WIDE open, and it doesn't look like Jerel's vision was necessarily obstructed.  I believe he could see Jimmy, he just wanted the bucket.

Okay, it's over, time to move on.  Let's get a good seed!

2 things I noticed:

(1) First, with respect to the McNeal three-pointer with 57 seconds left - It was a good shot, even if it wasn't good shot selection. McNeal has drained that countless times.

(2) Second, and perhaps more importantly, it took exactly 6 seconds from the time McNeal let go of the shot (the 3 pointer) to the time that 'Nova gathered the rebound and hustled, full-speed, across half-court and made it to the three point line. Oh, and that was off of a clean rebound. If McNeal takes that final shot with 1 second instead of 14-15 seconds left, 'Nova is taking a rushed, full-speed three pointer, at best, to win the game. While you can't really excuse McNeal's decision, equal blame falls on Buzz. You have to be clear with your kids on how to work the clock. Call a time-out if necessary. The thing that scares me is that on both of the last two possessions, McNeal waits until there are 15 seconds on the clock. He is consciously and very obviously looking at the clock before he takes off. He was very aware of the clock. I really have to wonder whether Buzz told him to initiate the offense at 15 seconds. If so, MAJOR COACHING BLUNDER. I know this has all been discussed ad naseum, but I had to put down my non-emotional thoughts after a closer second look.

BONUS: At the risk of pointing out the obvious, what in all @#$! was McNeal doing on the last play??????????????
