Closest that we know of right now would be Deandre Kane.  He's probably thought of more as a scorer, but he shot over 50% from beyond the arc as a HS senior, and I think he's in the mid 40s right now at prep school.

Yep, I would love someone like Andy Rautine on Marquette's team.

Flynn impresses me the most of any player I've watched in the BE Tournament. Never realized before just how good he is. He's a man amongst boys like Reynolds, Smith, Ruoff, and McNeal.

Ebanks is going to be a force once he gets older too

Is Boeheim (sp) sacrificing the energy of his team to win the Beast, as opposed to saving something for the NCAA?

And yes I know...they are 18-22 year old kids. Have a lot of energy, etc, etc.

por ejemplo... FLynn has played 107 out of 115 minutes.

But it seemed like the last time they went all out to get to the tourney they looked extremely flat in the first round and got bounced by A&M.

Thoughts?

Last time they won the BET as a 9 seed (2006), they were playing for their NCAA tournament lives and probably wouldn't have gotten in without the championship.  You'd have to think mentally and emotionally a team would be drained after that.  I remember I picked them to lose that A&M game just based on that.  However, they won the BET in 2005 as well, as a 3 seed, and only needed to win 3 games instead of 4.  Those three wins were against (11)Rutgers, (2)UConn, and (8)WVU.  'Cuse proceeded to lose to the Catamounts in the first round.

Therefore, while I think winning the tourney and expending too much energy hurt them in 2006, I don't know about 2005.

I agree navin and after I posted the message I thought a little more about it and they really can't handle anything any different than they are.  I did hear that Flynn told the coaches he had nothing left and they said ok, go back out there it's time for OT.  I guess that would be similar to the looking away that buzz does when his big players want a break.
