New York -- MU senior guard Jerel McNeal is one of 30 players named to the ballot for the John R. Wooden National Award ballot for the 2009 Wooden Award All-American team and player of the year, awarded annually to the nation's top college player.

Headlining the ballot is 2008 winner Tyler Hansbrough of North Carolina, as well as five other Big East players: Connecticut's Hasheem Thabeet, Louisville's Terrence Williams, Notre Dame's Luke Harangody and Pittsburgh's DeJuan Blair and Sam Young.
