Good grief. Higgins in particular has bailed out Nova very nicely.

I don't often get too worked up during the games, I usually wait until afterward, but when Reynolds just got called I yelled a loud obscenity quite loudly.  My neighbors must be thinking I am insane.
"Nice helmet!"
"Actually, it's not a helmet, it's a hairmet.  You see, it's got extra room in it so you don't mess up your hairdo."
"I'm going to write you a prescription for two testicles, you get it filled whenever."

The refs are pretty inconsistent and have made some bone-headed calls, but wow are the Warriors playing like...well...Warriors. This is going to be a great game.

Big Papi

YES!!!!!!!!!!!   We can b*tch about the refs.  3 horrible calls in a row against us.  HORRIBLE!

Marquette_g

You can b*tch about them, but there was a lot of contact on that travel call against Nova that went our direction.

Norm

McNeal was definitely fouled driving for that last shot. Horrible non-call.

squirrel

McNeal was fouled at least 3 times on that possesion, absolutely incredible.  >:( >:( >:(

Jackson_Downer

I thought the same thing.  The second I saw the lane open up, I thought, "either me makes this or he is fouled."  Guess I was wrong on both counts.  I still don't understand how that last shot went uncontested.

Not to mention the two other fouls that weren't called in the back court either.  Higgins is an idiot

in reality refs kept us in the game calling a lot of fouls on nova.

At one point we had nine field goals and 25 free throws. So whining about the refs isn't really pertinent. Better decisions in the final 90 seconds and we're celebrating now.

Sorry, don't like to single out posts, but are you serious?  Did you watch the fcuking game?  They were hacking and clearing out and going over the top of MU all game long.  They should have been called for more fouls.

With 20 seconds to go, all of the free throws we had shot in the game had become irrelevant - they are just points, it doesn't matter how we got them.  The same standard of officiating should be applied regardless of how many fouls were previously called.  After rewatching on the dvr a few times, Cunningham clearly gets McNeal's elbow with his arm when he is trying to block the shot, and his hand also gets Jerel on the hand (I understand the 2nd part is not always a foul, hand is sometimes part of the ball).

Yes.  I thought for certain that a foul was going to be called on us out of that play.

I did watch the game and being a fan, I feel the same as you.  However, if you were to go to the nova board, I bet they feel like they were getting hosed on the calls.  I think the refs were bad but consistently bad to both teams.  Big east games are physical and a lot of stuff doesn't get called in a normal big east games.  In this game they blew the whistle A LOT.    So yes, i would prefer them to be consistently good but I bet we would have shot fewer free throws in that case.

ecompt

squirrel, I understand your frustration and you're probably right about the last call, but we shot 39 free throws in that game. We had SIX two-point baskets, which is astonishing. If Jerel drives six seconds later and doesn't get the call, we don't care because the clock would have expired.

TallTitan34

Providence fans in the front row were yelling at the refs throughout the game.

In the PC and UL game a guy yelled, "I support neither team and this officating sucks!"

Tom Crean's Tanning Bed

If any of the crew that did tonight's 6 OT game does either of the games tommorrow, I'd be stunned.  I see no way for them to be remotely physically or mentally ready after officiating til 1:30 in the morning.

how about how Reynolds grabs and pulls on his matchup's jersey when on defense every time he gets screened.

And then how Mo is called for a touch foul on Reynolds 60 feet from the basket on the way back?  That's the complaint...the inconsistency of BE officials within a game and from crew to crew.  Complaining about one foul over the other or this ref vs. that is just a faux remedy for us fans that makes us feel slightly better...complaining about the inconsistency of the crews is for the press, the league, the coaches, and the AD's to finally address.   ESPN has been hardly kind to the BE officials.
