Can anyone fill me in on who Toney Douglas is? All i know about him is that he is from Florida State and that he is beating Dom in teh Cousy Award poll. I have seen FSU play this year, but he doesnt stick out in my mind. Did this guy cure cancer or find a quicker way to recover from a broken Metatarsil?

The guy just has a bigger and/or more dedicated (to voting) fanbase. I haven't seen him much, but IMO he's a shoot first PG that carries the offensive load for FSU. he's averaging about 20 ppg but only 3 assists. Good player, but I'm not so sure he'll get the committe's vote because I don't think he's the best PG.

False.  Look how active the Warchant basketball board is.  Their fanbase uses... magic.  Nothing wrong with that though.

I don't know about the FSU fan base, but I have to believe it's helping him to play in the ACC, and to have only one other ACC player on the list (Teague from Wake Forest).  Plenty of hoops fan interest from schools like UNC, NCST, Duke, etc. and you have to think that they'd generally support guys they've seen play more closely.

I'm guessing BE fans would generally do the same to support players in our conference.  The problem is that there are FOUR BE players on the list this year -- DJ, Price, Flynn and Fields.  Therefore, other than the direct support each player is getting from his team's own fans, the votes from fans of schools like UL, G'Town, etc are being split among more players.

Uhh - maybe if the voting was for real.  But now, it's just bots -  pure bots.  'nuff said.  I'm guessing they'll just throw out the fan vote once they pick up on that.

Hypothetically, would a "Warrior" beat a "Seminole"?

Douglas is a sparkplug.

And he can SHOOT unlike DJ.

But that won't stop me for voting for #1! ;)
