UConn, 'Ville & Pitt are the real thing. These teams are just tough and fun to watch. No lead is safe. MU goes up by 9 vs Pitt, I go get a soda and the game is tied by the time I return. Just 3 games of absolute tough competition.

Props to MU for even sticking with them. Too bad they didn't get the chance to face them totally healthy. With James, I think we are right there. Without him, MU hangs for 3/4s, but eventually fades. Still, fun games to watch and be involved in.

Agree on two out of three.  I guess I've happened to catch Louisville on their off days, but they don't impress me all that much.  Pitt and UConn are as good as anybody, though.

Hobbes:  What's misunderstood about you?
Calvin:  Nobody thinks I'm a genius.

And Pitt and UConn have absolute horses inside, while we again have midgets. Every year we go through this. How is it that these elite teams have several studs inside, and we cannot even recruit one?

And please, don't tell me that MU has the disadvantage of being in Milwaukee. Come on--Pitt, UConn--what is so attractive about those schools that they keep shuttling in quality big people?

I see not much inside for next year with O'Tule and McMorrow--unless Maymon is an awesome stud like Blair.

I'm guessing you haven't seen Maymon play, because he's not really an inside player.  Maymon is 3/4 combo, not a true post player.  When he plays at the 4, he's not a traditional back to the basket low post guy, he's more of a face up for man who does his best work away from the basket.

He's also probably an inch shorter and 35-40 lbs lighter than Blair, though he is very strong.

I agree CTWarrior, UConn and Pitt are the real deal.  The only way Pitt doesn't reach the final 4 is if the game is called tighly and Blair gets into foul trouble.  That's a real possibility as he seems to get away with a lot underneath.   I don't think UConn is quite as good, but they have their own weapons and I'd be surprised if they didn't make it to the Final 4 as well.
Louisville will be a candidate to as an early upset victim.  I just don't think they're as good as their ranking.  And they don't play smart too often.
