MU-Nova tiebreaker question
« on: February 28, 2009, 01:13:08 PM »
So what happens if Nova wins out and we lose to L'ville and Pitt and beat Syracuse, putting us both at 13-5?? Who gets the 4 seed in the Big East Tourny?

I believe Nova because they beat Pitt and we will have lost to them.

Currently Nova holds the tiebreaker over us because of their victory over Pitt.

Head to head is first criteria. Since that is even then it goes to who has beaten the highest seeded conference team.

'Nova would get it, since their best win per the conference standings would be Pitt (either 15-3 or 14-4 assuming a win over us), and ours would be whomever finishes 6th (probably Providence).

Either way, the magic # is 2, and 'Nova finishes with ND and Providence.  So it's not going to be easy for them to finsh 13-5 either.
The General has taken on a new command.
