James undergoes successful surgery

Feb. 27, 2009 10:27 p.m.

Dominic James underwent successful surgery on his fractured left foot on Friday at Aurora Sinai Medical Center, according to Marquette University men's basketball media relations director Scott Kuykendall.

The senior guard, who suffered the injury in the first half of the Golden Eagles' 93-82 loss to Connecticut on Wednesday, was operated on by Dr. Ted Gertel.

James is expected to need roughly three months' recovery time.

He did not accompany MU on its trip to Louisville on Friday. The Golden Eagles (23-5, 12-3) take on the Cardinals (22-5, 13-2), co-Big East leaders, at 11 a.m. Sunday.

Great news.  However, I fully expect him and his big brother Germayne to get in the car tomorrow and make the trek to UL!

BTW...the Pal-Item has a little more info.  Apparently they think the break was caused by a hairline fracture that had been there...

A pre-existing hairline fracture seems right.  DJ really did not do much to cause a fracture when he went down.

Has anyone here ever read an article describing surgery as being "unsuccessful"?
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

Hmmmmm.  Point taken.

(But even in these cases, I'll be the docs described the surgeries as, "successful")   ;)
