I saw on the ESPN pregame conversation/discussion of the game that Lazar has the flu?  Anyone know if there is truth to this?

It was posted by a UCONN fan who "knows people at MU," so might not be reliable.

Either way, I'm confident Lazar will come out and kick a$$ anyway!

robmufan

Jordan had the flu in the playoffs...that turned out ok

HoopsMalone

sometimes when you are sick you shoot better because it slows your mind down.  A lot of players have strong games when they are sick.  Could make him a step slower to the boards, however.

Gwaki

We have played through the fflu many times before. And no one would tell someone if they knew they were a uconn fan that zar had the flu. If he does he'll be on iv before the game.

IV the hell out of the dude then haul his heine out on the court.

And then at halftime, hook him up again!

Not that you can't get it twice, but didn't Lazar already have the flu this year? I seem to remember reports of him getting an IV before a game... St. Johns maybe??

How do these guys not get the flu shot?

That's what makes me think this is a rumor.  My grandfather is a doctor and told me the flu shot was accurate for most strains this year.  I'm sure these guys are given the flu shot.

Maybe he has a cold.

MUeng

mnuc you are correct, he already had the flu

DomJamesToTheBasket

Lazar is the kind of player that can play BETTER when he is sick. He is really tough. Adrenaline and desire will get him through it.

This validates my decision to not receive flu shots. Every year, I notice flu shot recipients get the flu and I stay free and clear.  I wonder how many millions are made with the flu shot.

You heard it here first. Davante Gardner will be a Beast this year.

this years flu shot was only good for about 60% of flu virus's out there. also, the virus has been mutating this year so there is a new strand out that i am just getting over. this was the first year in a long time i have not gotten the shot and i got sick. i usually find that they keep me from getting the flu.
But I like to throw handfuls...

Uh oh, conspiracy nut. Flu shots also contain mind-controlling drugs from the government, right?

No, that's the flouride in the public water system.

Vaccines may not contain mind-controlling substances, but everyone knows that they cause autism.

muhoosier260

anyone remember last year? i swear james had the flu for about 6 weeks. after poor performances ignorant announcers would chalk up a bad shooting night to a "lingering flu". hayward will show up tonight though, he'd be out there with a broken leg tonight

Actually, as the myth goes, childhood vaccinations cause autism. It's because autism typically becomes apparant at the same point in a child's life as the time they receive their vaccinations. So there's the whole confusion of correlation with causation.

I hope nobody with a Marquette education is ignorant enough to actually believe that crap. And I hope Hayward wasn't dumb enough to buy into the flu shot conspiracy.

I'm surprised mviale....especially considering the gov't push for everyone to get a flu shot.  I would think you would be all over those directives.   ;)   I got mine this year, no flu yet (knock on wood)

Influenza shots for influenza infection

The "flu" most often refers to gastroenteritis (vomiting and diarrhea)
