Alright, I've got a slight problem with a UW fan that is no longer my friend for that reason (jk). He's saying that the Big Ten is so much better than the Big East (which is ridiculous, I know!). Here is where our Facebook conversation started. I had the Uconnsoldout.com link on Facebook status and he (let's just call him D-Bag) replies:

D-BAG: Yea, big deal, Wisconsin has had a sell out every game since the kohl center has opened I'm pretty sure : ) And o yeah, Uconn will win this game, sorry, andy!

ME: oh want to start this discussion again B***! Let's get it on. First of all the kohl center holds only 17,190 while the bc holds 19,000 thus MU has already broken the state record in earlier years and we are talking week night games here buddy and oh wait I don't think the badgers are going to make the tourney am I right and 5 Big East teams are top 10 right now. YOU LOSE!

I start thinking why the hell am I fighting about arenas and attendence...kinda pointless

D-BAG: Yes, Wisconsin will, and anyways big deal, 1,800 more, milwauke is a bigger city than Madison thus easier to fill, the bc is a much worse arena and I know that you know that. Anyways, 8/11 teams from the big ten are getting in  the tournament this year.  For the big east, 6 maybe 7 will get in out of 16, i', pretty sure 8/11 is better. Marquette's SOS is #88, lmao, Wisconsins? #4. Wisconsins worst loss? Iowa, all others were close and understandable, Marquette lost to Dayton and USF lol. Of course Marquette will get the higher seed, but your sorry behind will be knocked out round 2 again because of bad defense and inconsistency and realy do you guys have any impressive wins? at all? ah yeah, u guys have one, nova, nice job, clap clap, and dont say notre dame or georgetown they both suck thiis year)

No offense but did you type that on a cell phone?

Breathe.......    First, scoreboard.  Who won in December?   Second, Cheat?   Compare # of times UW on probation vs # for MU (zero), Third BEast record v B10. (5-3)   Fourth, every B10 fan has to live with 38-33.   5th, anybody who folds down the stretch like they did on Sunday (32-9?   Please) can't possibly keep talking smack.    6th, have him google "Bo Ryan and Wisconsin defeat a higher seed in the NCAA tourney" and see how many hits he gets.
There is lots more.   But this is a good start.

cbssportsline.com has their RPI rankings......Big East has 7 teams in top 25.  Big Ten?  only 3.  Try that on him

No kidding. I read the first 3 sentences and stopped... paragraphs are your friend!!! Not to mention the whole text-message-like abbreviations make me go  ?-(   And man... your vocab says a lot about your age... relax and sound like a more intelligent fan at the very least

Your friend doesn't happen to be AbeLives on the jsonline blogs is he? haha.

Relax. He's got sour grapes. Ask him how his team is doing when they lose round 1 in the NIT

His team is crap, MU is doing well. Enough said. No need to get up in arms about the discussion, our resume speaks for itself. The Big 11 is a pathetic conference

MUWeb7

#1 team in the country: UCONN - BE
#2 team in the country: PITT - BE

Next:

Ask him where wisconsin is ranked. Last time I checked they aren't even in the "Others receiving votes" section. That puts them at less votes than the likes of Dayton and Utah State. Some other teams getting votes by the AP include: American University, Siena and California.

Ouch.

There are only two potential sweet 16 teams in the Big 10 (Purdue and Michigan St.) Unless they get really high seeds Illinois, Ohio St, Penn St., Minnesota, Michigan are out in the first round. UW might win one game.

dude, use quotation marks, not parentheses

Hmmmm....Poor grammar...run on sentences....

While you are at it, edit the redundancy in the thread title:  "stupid" and "Uw fans"

Alright all fixed up Once I throw him this little number contributed to me by a fellow muscoop member (Thanks Bro) he wont know what hit him.
First of all...scoreboard!

Ok let me set things straight for both of you:
Wisconsin's 2007 average attendence: 17,190
Marquette's average attendence: 15, 345

In other words....both are excellent (top 15 in the country). Which one is more impressive? MU if you ask me. Wisconsin has 3x the number of students. They should sell out every game. Not to mention most UW alumni are from/live in the state of Wisconsin. Marquette is a national school and its alums branch out farther on average.

Strength of Schedule is the weakest argument you can make. When will Wisconsin face the #2, #6 and #1 teams in a 10 day span? Answer: Never, unless they leave the Big Ten. BIG east has 7 teams in the top 25 of the RPI while Big Ten has 3. IMO the Big televen will get 6 teams in max. Big East will get 8 or 9. Not to mention the Big East is 5-3 vs. the Big 10 this year.

Did you see the Penn State vs. Illinois game the other day? I know I didn't because I would have fell asleep with that final score (38-33). I mean were they playing on peach baskets or something?

Please do me a favor and google "Bo Ryan and Wisconsin defeat a higher seed in the NCAA tourney" and tell me how many hits you get.

Honestly, are we really having this discussion?

rocky_warrior

Your buddy is right about one thing.  It's too bad the win against Wisconsin isn't impressive.  If bucky was good at all this year, then people would give us more respect.

Well, honestly UW sells out every game.  That is the Kohl Center's listed capasity.

Wisconsin has 3x the number of students. They should sell out every game.

But they manage to sell out with so many entertainment/social options in that big entertainment city known as Madison!

Hards Alumni

you obviously don't live in Madison, nor have you ever lived in Madison.
