MU back at No. 8

Feb. 23, 2009 1:03 p.m.

Thanks to another two-victory week, the Marquette Golden Eagles moved back into the eighth spot in the Associated Press' media poll, released on Monday.

MU (23-4, 12-2 Big East) knocked off Seton Hall and Georgetown to move up two spots from No. 10.

The Golden Eagles are one of five Big East teams to be ranked in the top 10. Pittsburgh (25-2, 12-2), by virtue of its victory over then No.-1 Connecticut last Monday, moved into the No. 1 spot.

Following the Panthers are No. 2 Connecticut (25-2, 13-2), No. 6 Louisville (21-5, 12-2), Marquette at No. 8, and No. 10 Villanova (22-5, 10-4).

MU hosts Connecticut on Wednesday, then travels to Louisville for a game at 11 a.m. Sunday.
