jerel as game stud,  obviously played very well and is simply a stud, but i thought the difference maker today was Wesley.  His threes were huge and then in the second half wehn we got back into it and then extended the lead i had just said to my son while we were watching at an AAu toureny "we need to get Wesley going again"  He then proceeded to hit a three and had then incredibly impressive drive, our offense had completely stagnated in the second half we had score like 14 points in the first 13 -14 minutes and then he kicked us into high gear.  Jerel was solid down the stretch especially the drive and dish to jimmy...ball game

As someone who attended the game, the stud of the game should definitely be Wes Matthews. Wes was the most consistent player throughout. Jerel was good, but Wes was better throughout. Don't go by just the stats. Wes had an awesome game, and even Georgetown fans were noticing him.

actually.. I didn't just go by stats.. my selection of jerel for stud was based on consistency.. wes seemed to disappear for intervals through the game.. it was a tough call all around to be honest.  Jerel got the nod.
Once a warrior always a warrior.. even if the feathers must now come with a beak.

Not to nitpick, but without Wes Matthews yesterday, MU would likely have gone in to halftime down by 10 or so. He scored 18 in the first half! He hit 5 3-pointers in the game, played great D, hit a key 3-pointer with about 7 minutes left in the game and hustled from start to finish. Jerel made some bone head decisions with the ball in the first half that keyed a run by Georgetown. No biggie, just thought Wes deserved the nod in this one.

Nice to have these discussions after these great wins, and to have at least a couple of guys who deserve stud of the game!  Good place for us :)

GO MARQUETTE!!!

Lets try this though...

So, my point is.  We needed both guys to get the win (actually, we needed everyone that played technically...), but Jerel stepped it up, and surpassed Wesley's stats.

it appeared that Wesley was hurt or something.  A couple of times they shouwed him on the bench wincing with medical staff around him.  His periods on the bench no different than the St Johns game had our offense stagnating
