Butler (U, not Jimmy)'s Bubble Bursts
« on: February 18, 2009, 09:37:27 PM »
First they lose to Green Bay on Feb. 2

Then they lose to Loyola-Chicago last Sunday.(Feb 15)

Tonight they lose to UWM!

Butler peaked at #11 the week of Feb. 22.  They are #22 this week.  They will probably drop out of the top 25 next week.

If they continue to lose, and do not win the Horizon League Tourney, can a team that was #11 at the beginning of Feb not make the NCAA?  Will the NCAA take 2 Horizon League Teams?

yes, they can miss the tourney. but i don't think they'll end up losing their conference tournament so it will be a non-issue.

Is this considered UWM's "Super Bowl?"  ;D

They MUST win out in their tournament to dance now.

But if your team loses to UWM, I don't think you deserve to dance!!!

As a side note, from the title, I thought something happened to good 'ol Jimmy!

Butler is terribly overrated.  Just as bad as Michigan State being #5 when they should be around #20.  Laughable that Dayton isn't rated when they play in a tougher conference, have the matching win over Xavier that Butler has, they beat us, and they have far better losses than Butler.  Since the media doesn't have a clue they will probably let them in, but a loss in the Horizon League Tournament and Butler belongs in the NIT.

I've watched Butler numerous times this year and they aren't nearly as good as they've been these last few years prior to this season. They have no business being in the Top 25. They frickin just got beat by lowly Loyola at home.
