What are the chances of Diener and Novak being at the game Sat?Both are on the All-Star break and have come back in seasons past.

Novak needs to get on a team where he can get enough attempts to make the 3 pt shoot out.

Not many teams more woeful than the Clippers that he would be given more pt.

His agent would be wise to get him to play for Don Nelson or Mike D'Antoni where you don't have to do anything but score to get on the floor.  Or get him on a team with a superstar where he could keep people from doubling.

He didn't have that in Houston with McGrady and Yao?

All Steve would have had to do on that team was camp in the corner and wait for the dish or kick-out.  Unfortunately we didn't get to see it.

I am always surprised that Novak can't catch a break in the Association.  He keeps getting signed so that's a good thing.  But the kid is 6'10'', and he can rain.  I am sure he plays defense like my mom, no one in the NBA plays defense.

I put it at 42.5% for one of them since they are from Wisconsin, but a mere 18.33% for both of them. Chances are one of them will want to go on a vacation somewhere warm.

72.1% that Steve is there.

11.3% that Travis shows up.

88.7% that Travis is going to spend the weekend at one of Dwyane Wade's sex orgy marijuana parties on a boat with the Minnesota Vikings punching chicks with Devendorf!!  :D :D :D

Interesting would you rather...Would you rather have your girl get an STD by D-Wade or get her face bashed in by Devendorf   ?-(

Is the STD curable? Or is it forever, like herpes?

...this just got weird...

Novak is lighting 'em up with Clippers. double figures every game. announcers love him.

I dont know about Novak, but this is from Rosiak's blog:

"In addition, four of MU's top five all-time scorers will be in attendance: McNeal, Thompson, Dominic James and Travis Diener."

He played for Jeff Van Gundy, a defensive minded coach.

He singed a 3 year deal as a rookie 3 years ago... He was traded to the Clippers. He has yet to "keep getting signed"

As for him catching a break, all he can do is shoot off the screen. He can't create his own shots, he can't dribble, he can't do anything but shoot off the screen. I'm not surprised at all that he hasn't had a good first 3 years, but at least he doesn't really have to work again for the rest of his life

I know him a lot better than most people on here, probably better than all unless you played with him at MU. Sorry for being a realist. I'm not a current undergrad who all they saw at MU was Novak, making him the "bees knees." Graduated with him, so I've seen better before and better since. Great guy and a good attitude (unlike Diener), I wish him all the best and am very friendly when we see each other every now and then, but let's be real about his actual talent. NBA talent, but far from what a lot of people make him up to be.

Thank you Dr. Semantics when it comes to my comment "keeps getting signed".  2nd round contracts are not guaranteed, so he got signed once, then his team signed him to an additional 3 year contract.  So yeah, he keeps getting signed.

And since you are Steve's BFF, can you relay a message to him for me?  Awesome presentation on Hello Dolly in History of the American Musical in the Fall of 2002.

And care to elaborate on vitriol towards Diener?

<---- Also not a current undergrad.

Must have been pretty sweet to be a freshman on campus for the Final Four team. Definitely something I would have loved to experience when I was a student.

I had the pleasure of watching guys like Hutchins, Wardle, my good friend John Cliff, Henry, Nnamaka, and Harris during my time at Marquette (a lot of NIT years during my 4 years). Novak was and still is a special talent and I'm sure that when his current contract expires, some team (in need of a lights out shooter) will give him a deal.

As an alumnus I want to see former MU players succeed in the NBA. Jimmy Mac parlayed 2 blocks a game in Washington and received $35 million over 7 years. I'm not saying that the same will occur with Novak, but there's always a team looking for a shooter of his caliber.

Seriously? Did you see the guy outside of school? I've got stories on stories about him. He was full of himself, thought he was God's gift to women, thought he was better than he was at basketball. He was a very good player, but a tool nonetheless. My funniest, most favorite stories are girls shooting him down in his face.

Anyways, he's a good basketball player, and I enjoyed cheering him on, but bad attitude. Novak is a class act and it's unfortunate more college stars aren't like him. Which is why I wish him the best and am very happy for his success

I would agree. He'll have an NBA career and good for him. Basketball has been his life and it's good to see his hard work giving him a paycheck. He gets paid millions to play a sport, and won't need a job the rest of his life. Awesome, good for him. There are many wishing they had the opportunity. He'll catch on somewhere I'm sure, as his shot is as pure as gold. I think his contract is up after this season actually. Maybe he'll make a return to home? You are right though, he'll catch on somewhere after his contract is up

I also do remember those days you are talking about. Lots of fun watching them play as a young MU fan. Big change from then to now. I remember going to games with my dad and walking down into the student section about 15 rows back. Big change, and I'm glad to see it!

To answer the question from the original poster though, I wouldn't be surprised to see Novak there. He lives in the 3rd ward in the offseason if I'm not mistaken. Would be nice to see him. I'm sure Diener will be there.
