anyone else impressed with jimmy butler's performance in a big game for us in the BEast?  i really think he continues to improve with each game.  i loved him taking shots in big situations and being aggressive.

MR.HAYWARD

the charge call against him was simply terrible i let off a curse filled tirade, the defender was on his side to behind him and was moving the whole time.  That call was absolutely terrible.  WEs and jerel got abused on a couple plays that did not get called either.  credit the team tho they did not let it affect them

this is the kind of thing we've been longing for out of our bench this entire season. we're looking for productive minutes, not just minutes. today jimmy gave us some great minutes, knocking down a couple shots, being aggressive, and hitting his free throws. if he's a guy that buzz can go to off the bench and be sure that the line up won't be negatively impacted, that's exactly what we need out of him.

Anyone else notice that he has a knack for being at the right place at the right time.  In the offense board category especially.  If he gets a bit more confidence and learns to be a stronger finisher, he will be a solid player at MU.

Anyone notice the "off the backboard assist" DJ had to JimmyB for a lay-in?  Nice!!
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

Butler is a killer slasher that is definitely best off the ball-cutting to the hoop.  He had the pieces there all season, it was just a matter of time before he started to get used to the speed of the BEast play and make some statements of his own.

I think next years team, while obviously taking a pretty big dip compared to our skills right now, is not going to be as bad as people think.  With guys like Zar, Jimmy, Cubes and Aker returning, getting an NCAA tourney bid is not out of the question.

I don't see him as a "killer" slasher. In fact, he's still too hesitant for my taste and defers to the senior leadership (but who wouldn't). I am waiting for him to have an explosive, coming-out game.

I think Butler will be a starter for us next year. I expect him to be a physically stronger next year. However, I do not believe we will be an NCAA team. Look how Georgetown is strugggling with young players. we definatley need aker to come back next year.

Jimmy is providing the must-have that we absolutely need. A spark off the bench with energy that can score.

I loved him today and he's been getting better since the b.east started. He has an awesome free throw stroke too and he goes to the basket...something Wes has done with aplomb the last three and a half years.

Who do you guys/gals think has the quickest first step to the tin on MU's team? I say McNeal.

DJ.

But he usually dribbles a few first.

I see out incoming freshmen making more of a difference than Acker and Cubillan next year regardless of whether they have played a single NCAA game or not

I think next year's starters are way up in the air.  Outside of Hayward, and probably Cadougan, no one can say for certain who will be starting.  If I were to make a guess however:

Cadougan
Buycks
Hayward
Maymon
Otule

Jimmy Butler and Erik Williams will get major minutes.  McMorrow probably backs up Otule.  I'm not sure about Fulce or Hazel.  Roseboro will be stuck to the pine.  I don't see Cubes on the floor much.

that's the point. they have talent at all positions but are 3-6 w/ losses to Cincy and SH.  I don't necessarily agree that we will have the same type of drop off from this year to next but it is definitely a possibility.
