I've gotten some emails from people who were wondering what it is Jerel McNeal's wearing underneath his shorts on game days, so I asked him on Thursday.

Turns out they're whole-leg sleeves, which he began wearing earlier this season on one leg after tweaking his knee and not being able to find a compression sleeve that he was comfortable wearing.

"It was something that I liked because it kept my knee so warm over the course of the game and kept my blood circulating, so I put one on my other leg as well," he said. "Now I kind of like, fell in love with them. I just continue to wear 'em."

McNeal guessed that the sleeves might first have been brought in for Dominic James, who tried all sorts of gimmicks over his first three years in an attempt to cut down on cramping in his legs.

So, there you have it. It certainly isn't about fashion with McNeal, who is among the least concerned players at MU when it comes to what he's wearing on the court.

Does James know they are using him as a pitch man for the arm sleeve?

better question is does the NCAA know that this company is using a current player to sell their stuff?

Thats a good question. It would clearly be a violation if James knew about it, but given that its a game photo I bet he doesn't. An even bigger violation if he was paid any money for it.

A few years ago Matt Lienart was suspended for a practice because he promoted a local TV or radio station which was then aired.
