Zags blog is reporting he's probably a no go I would post the link but I'm on my phone.

This item for the article describes Summers' injury:
Thompson said he believed the diagnosis was plantar fasciitis, which is a common injury among athletes. In many cases, surgery is required.

I recently had plantar fasciitis. It was very bothersome for about three months, difficulty moving because of pain in the heel of the foot. Went to numerous PT sessions, which helped. It became dramatically better right after a cortisone shot in my heel. Bottom line: He may be able to play if the condition is mild to moderate and he receives an injection. (IMO)

It's an obvious comment, but very good news for us and VERY bad news for GTown (especially if he's out for more than a game). I'll take all the help I can get and I love seeing Marquette on this run, but it's hard to dislike GTown and it seems like Summers is a good kid. Hopefully he doesn't miss much time.

Besides, I'd like to beat them at full-strength on their court this year.  ;D

Tom Crean's Tanning Bed

Their board is reporting Summers was seen walking around campus this morning on crutches and in a hard boot.

I don't think that's a good sign usually.
The General has taken on a new command.

nyg

DC sports radio station said he is out for game.

Doctor V

i cant believe that its thursday night before the georgetown game, their best player has been ruled out, and i had to scroll past so many crean debate posts and a UW player post to see this...interesting

well this isnt good news for them, but it definitely helps us because if we win it prob wont be remembered he was out, unless he misses multiple games.

definitely enhances MU's chances on saturday, not having to worry about both summers and monroe

cant wait until saturday

muole

it's a shame he's out.  he's a great player, by all indications a good kid, and it is always best to face teams at full strength.

i hope the reports aren't true and he plays.  MU needs experience guarding guys like him in preparations for the post season.

Even though I feel kind of bad about saying this, him being out will be great for us. This means that monroe now has to lead the team.

Remember two years ago when McNeal was out and Kinsella comes into the game against Pittsburg and hits 3 point shots to lead us to victory. There are no guaranteed wins.
