Looks like Koonce is trying to move on from MU.

Maybe he can reduce the premium MU has to pay UWM to get them to play at the BC!

Four candidates emerge for UWM AD job

By Don Walker of the Journal Sentinel

Posted: Jan. 26, 2009

Four candidates have emerged as candidates for the job of athletic director at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.

The four include Vince Sweeney, currently senior associate athletic director for external relations at UW-Madison, and George Koonce Jr., a former Green Bay Packer and currently senior associate athletic director at Marquette University.

The other candidates are Montgomery Porter, associate athletic director for business operations at Western Michigan University at Kalamazoo, and Paul Schlickmann, executive associate director of athletics at Stony Brook University in New York state.

Probably not a bad move for Koonce or UWM.  Anyone have any inside information on his importance to the program...I can't believe it would be much in the overall scheme.
