without a legit 5 man. I can't believe I just said that folks. These guards and Hayward are that good. I can only name about 3 or 4 teams that are definately better than MU. If this team gets some good matchups they could definately end up in Detroit. Enjoy this ride.

I promise to enjoy the ride - but I'm going to withhold any final four calls until the end of February - at the earliest.

esotericmindguy

How far did that Nova team that featured 3 guards make it?  I think the elite 8, they have the heart and the desire and plenty of guys who can win the game.  I will pick them to go, as I do every year.

Buzz4Prez

to early for a final four prediction... we are good, but I don't know if we are final four good. Even for the best teams the Final Four is not easy to make, a lot would have to go right.

why do people go and ruin this great stretch of basketball by setting up such lofty expectations? stop jinxing us and just enjoy what is going on now.

It always depends on matchups. Stanford was a bad matchup for us and we almost pulled it out. That said, there's no doubt MU will be a tough out in March. These guys are leavng it all on the floor and playing with a level of composure equal to the 03 squad.

For right now, I'd love to be 8 - 0 in the BEast and beat Georgetown on Saturday :)

GO MARQUETTE!!

Going into the DePaul and South Florida game at 8-0 would be SPECTACULAR. With DePaul performing as poorly as they are this year, the MU contigent will be huge!

At this point...it is so hard not to think ahead!

But I agree with the word "CAN".  if you'd said "WILL" I would have said way to early to set expectations.  This year I just honestly feel confident that we are going to win every game unless we are in foul trouble.  When the SEC refs ambushed us in Tennessee, I knew we were too thin, but whether its rallying against Providence, seeing Shrek go through a stetch of ridiculous shots from 15-20 feet tongiht, or holding off Rutgers furious rally at the end, I just feel like the guys are in complete control at all moments.

What a ride!  I don't even leave the TV for commercials anymore - I don't want to miss a minute of this run.
The www.valueaddsports.com analysis of basketball, football and baseball players are intended to neither be too hot or too cold - hundreds immerse themselves in studies of stats not of interest to broader fan bases (too hot), while others still insist on pure observation (too cold).

Agree - its the same idiots that get worked up over "bracketology" in January....

Enjoy the ride - I went to school in the Majerus era and there was a whole helluva lot of ugly basketball then.

Go warriors.

I'll see your Majerus and raise you one Dukiet.

I'm enjoying this season.

put it this way.

No one will want to play Marquette in March or April.

I'd guess that Louisville will be looking forward to putting us in our place on March 1st.

I'd also guess that Dejuan Blair will be looking to pad his stats against our lineup on March 4th.

I don't understand why you guys are looking past our BE schedule at this point.  We'll be playing more ranked teams (and better teams) during our conference schedule and BE tourney than we will in the NCAA tourney.  I'm pumped to continue our conference schedule at this point.  Way better games in conference than the 1st two rounds of the NCAA tourney.

I just want to beat Pitt at home.  If we do that again this year it will serve that budding rivalry well :D

MDMU04

We can start the Final Four talk when this team wins its 4th NCAA tournament game.

It's January.  There are 11 conference games left to be played AND a conference tournament before we even get to postseason play.  A lot can happen in that time.

This team is 4 players deep.  Who didn't have the sphincter tighten a little when DJ went down grabbing his leg at the end of the game last night?  Any one of the big 3 gets hurt?  Sorry fellas, ballgame over.

This has been an awesome season so far.  This team is so incredibly fun to watch and has exceeded anyones expectations to this point.  But come on, we're not even half way through the conference season.

I agree with Skats. We can speculate all we want. But hopefully the team is just taking 1 game at a time. This conference is an absolute bear/BEast. Our last 5 games will be brutal. I believe that we will at least 2 of those last 5, but it is possible we lose all 5. That is why we need to keep rolling and build momentum.

One area of concern is that we need to get more out of our bench. What have we had--about 4 total points in the last two games? An injury or foul trouble will hurt us unless we get more production from the bench. While O'Tule (is he Irish by the way) is a project, he needs to be getting a couple of minutes a game to gain some confidence and experience.
