Talk about website gurus - does anyone know that muscoop traffic has increased 210% since last December.

9,847 Unique Visitors in Dec 08 or +210% over Dec 07.

Good work!

It's an amazing thing how much this site has grown over the past couple of years!  The credit all goes to Rocky, Spiral, Hilltopper, SoCal and the rest of the team!  Seriously... this is site has really become something to be proud of... nice work guys!

Looking at other teams forums, I've yet to find one that compares to scoop.  How many other forums have an extensive wiki?

Thank you guys for filling that void after Ring Out Ahoya went down.

Bah!  Those stats are bunk.  Believe who you want, but I have a stats program saying we had 9593 uniques in Dec 2007, and 22,896 in Dec 2008.   By those numbers (directly measured BTW) - it's more than double the estimates, and 238% YoY.   ;D

While I won't deny the mods spend a good deal of time with the site (thanks guys!), MUScoop would just be bits lost in the wind without the couple thousand contributors/members/lurkers that are involved.

As we've always said....By the fans, for the fans!

What he said.

You know ..  building site, building traffic .. is a long process.  I think we worked pretty hard that first 12-18 months, getting our name out, sending out newsletters, dropping business cards, pimping the wiki.  -- Now?  The site is self-sustaining, self-growing.

Super.

Great work, but imagine the potential 12k students and so many alumni.

Turn it up and will the U-store give you a piece of the action?

I love muscoop.... BUT

can someone please explain the emblem to me?? I can't figure out what it's outlining :/

It's a mouse as the University is now considering changes the nickname to Marquette Mice just to sell more hats and jerseys. The economic downturn has really hit their endowment hard.

Here's a hint.

Thanks -- i totally get it now that i see the big picture ;)  it's too bad you can't include more of that picture, i wonder how many other ppl didn't get it . . .

And don't tease me too much, but for awhile i thought it could be a mouse . . .

Rocky - you should use Google analytics - very good for stats and usually close to the compete.com numbers

Of course, the numbers are skewed by me logging on from home, work, my Blackberry, my parents' house when I was home for the holidays, my girlfriend's computer, various public computers at hotels...

Seriously though, congratulations guys -- thanks for doing what you do and keeping MU fans up to date.

Funny you mention that -- 67% of our page loads come from approximately 9% of our visitors.  Some people term that group "addicts" - I prefer to call them fans :)
