outcoach the Coach of the year last year in Keno Davis????

Nothing seemed to work all game, until we went really really small.  Some great plays out of timeouts down the stretch.  Davis had a lost look on his face at the end of that game.

Seemed like Buzz was outcoached for the first 3/4 of the game.  I kept waiting for him to make some defensive adjustments.  Now for the real question...

Is this the first time the opposing coach dressed worse than Buzz?  Keno looked like he was heading to a homecoming dance in the mid 90's.  Buzz IMO needs a makeover.  But hell, if the guy keeps winning, who cares.

I'm not sold he outcoached Keno.

The three seniors took over and made the plays to pressure and push the ball. It also helped that PC missed their FTs, didn't capitalize on their Double Bonus, and turned the ball over so many times...

I don't think Buzz felt like he should have to go to a zone or go small to keep guys out of the lane.  The fact that MU won with the refs calling a foul on MU everytime Providence made any move to the hoop was impressive.  The fact that Buzz has MU 5-0 in the BEAST is AMAZING.  I give credit to the players, but it's only fair to give as much if not more to the coach as we'd be blasting the coach if he were losing.  It has to work both ways...

Maybe, maybe not but it was Buzz going small ball that turned the tide in this game.  Where was Hanke when we went so small?  Also, after two timeouts we execute beautifully and get great looks that we convert.

Daniel

I think in all fairness we have to give some props to Buzz.  He did some good substituting and going small won the game.

Our guys played their hearts out and pulled out a tough one - and Buzz did a fine job on the sidelines.

muole

heck yeah.  buzz did a great job.  TC leaving for "it's INDIANA" was the best thing to happen for this group of players.  they are so OBVIOUSLY responding better to buzz, and it's translating into Ws.

Thuggins was in a half-zip, golf style wind breaker last week right??
"I don't give a damn if he can't do nothing else. He can shoot, and I love the way he shoots. I don't care if he can't dribble, can't rebound, can't play defense... that kid can shoot the ball." - Tracy McGrady on Steve Novak

Buzz does not panick and he makes changes when needed. In the post game interview he said he benched Burke and Hazel, because they did not run the floor and the only thing they did was foul.

RubyWiscy

Naw, can't give Buzz credit for this one. Anyone who has coached knows when you win it's 'cause the players did well.  When you lose it's because the coach screwed up. This was all the players.

Disagree.
It's only one game, and I'm not going to make any sweeping judgements about who's the better coach, but Buzz clearly outcoached Keno tonight.
The bottom line is that Buzz made adjustments that helped lead to a big come-from-behind win whereas Keno essentially sat on his hands and made no adjustments while his team frittered away a 13-point lead at home. Also, MU had some terrific sets coming out of timeouts whereas Providence looked lost and, at best, disorganized down the stretch.
I won't go as far as to say MU won tonight because of Buzz, but his coaching put them in a much better circumstance to win than Keno's did for his team.

Buzz has really stepped it up in the fashion department ever since the Villanova game... probably b/c Jay Wright dresses so well himself.  He has finally gotten rid of the pastel colored shirts and shinny flower pattern ties.

And Thuggins doesn't count because anyone can out dress trailer park trash.
