I saw your post about ringtones for Ringout Ahoya.  I just bought a Razr, and for some reason, it didn't work for me.  I sent an e-mail to my phone and it worked but I wasn't able to download the mp3 onto my phone.

Anyway, I would love to use the intro to Where the Streets Have No Name as my ringer.  Do you know how I could do that?  Any help would be appreciated.

A few thoughts (and questions)...

Did the message you sent to the phone play ROA?  If so, then you should be able to go to the menu for that message (top  middle button) and say "store".

If you didn't get the song at all, then it may be a case of your provider not supporting it.  I know a few others said multimedia message just end up going to some mailbox that you have to access from your computer.

Anyhow, if you manage to get a song saved.  Here's what you need to know to convert...
1) Convert the original song (CD or MP3) to a .wav file (I use CDex for this).
2) Cut the wave file down to a sample of less than 25 seconds (I used MS sound recorder for this)
3) Convert the wave back to MP3 with the following rules (I used CDex for this):
     - Must be encoded at 64kbps constant bit rate
     - Must be encoded mono
     - Resulting MP3 file must be less than 200kB

Good luck!

Thanks for the info.  It didn't work for me.  I downloaded ROA.  Then, I attached it to an e-mail and sent it to my verizon phone.  I got a text message that looked like this.

<<ring_out.mp3>>

But I couldn't do anything with it.  When I looked at the size of the text message, it said 1kb, so I'm assuming that the attachment didn't go through.

I also have verizon and it worked fine on my razr so it can't be the service...
