This Season:
- 1 Win
- 2 Losses
- 1 Home Loss
- (Upcoming game with West Virginia)

My point is as bad as this team has seemed at times, we have accomplished as much as last years team if not more at this point.  With a win against West Virginia we are 2-2 in conference (same as last year in the first four games) and I think it can be said it is a weaker conference this year.  We also have, in my opinion, a more impressive non-conference resume than last year.

Hopefully this team can prove themselves in conference as they did last year.

Hopefully N.Dakota st. can win out and stay out of that sub-200 RPI range so it won't be considered such a bad loss

interesting comparison - hadn't thought to look at them side by side like that - thanks!!

The numbers may be similar, but the quality of those wins and loses are not what they were this time last year.  Nevertheless, I'm with you.  Expectations are hard to overcome.  I think most of us had higher expectations this year than last.

I did my time as a fan through the Piano Man/O'neil/Dean eras so I'm pretty happy today.  I can understand if the McGuire era fans are not.  It's all about expectations and perspective.  Just think, there's a six year old boy out there who is probably wondering if the Yankees will ever win a World Series in his lifetime. ;)

Definitely an interesting and relevant perspective, however I think it may be a little deceiving. Great, great win last night (and I was quite pleased to be able to watch it on FULL COURT), but I still think last year's team has a certain quality that this one does not.

But I don't want to dwell on the negative. The B&B Boys -- Barro and Burke -- deserve tremendous kudos for their games last night, as does the coaching staff for keeping everybody's heads up!

Quotebut I still think last year's team has a certain quality that this one does not.

Could that be because you already know how last year's season turns out?  Seems like a bit of hindsight is always 20-20 to me.  Last year's team was also flawed in that Novak could be exposed defensively and Barro was nowhere near as good of a player - even with as inconsistent as he's been this year.  Also, we turned the ball over quite a bit last year, just like we do this year.
