Someone at Miller Dropped the Ball...
« on: December 29, 2008, 12:21:15 AM »
For anyone driving into the city eastbound on I-94 or even down Wisconsin Avenue check out the Miller Brewery.  For as long as I can remember the back of the building on 37th and Wisconsin has had an ad covering the whole building, advertising the Miller Beer Tour.  I'm not sure if this building is part of Miller's campus but it is right next to the Brewery.

Anyway the ad has now been replaced with a giant Bud Light ad which says "Drinkability".  So for anyone entering the city who looks at the Miller Plant, one of the first things you will see is a huge "Drinkability" ad.

Embarrassing for Miller, but I have to give props to Bud for finding that ad location!

I think that building is a CH Coakley office building.

This reminds me of the rotating sign that sits atop East Hall (formerly the YMCA). I used to be a Bud Light sign and there was quite an outcry about it when I was at MU.

The Journal Sentinal did a story on this about 3 weeks ago.  It is owned by the Coakley company.  They offered it to Miller and Miller decided against it.  Guess who they went to next?

why would Miller decline?? too much? no need to spend for another ad there? this is interesting.

during the jv with coors a lot of change philosophy has happened at millercoors. i am sure the milwaukee market manager just didn't see the direct return. i know she was having some budget shortfalls to begin with.
But I like to throw handfuls...
