Roney Eford came into the MU program in the early 1990s.  I remember that he was a highly regarded recruit and more polished than your typical freshman.  Eford was a valuable team member and contributed a lot from day one.

I think that LH is in a similar situation and if he contributes as much as Eford did his first year we will have great success.

What are your thoughts about the two players?

I partially agree.. he was highly regarded (and still is) and is certainly more polished than your average freshman tends to be at the start.. however there are a few things.. hrm.. working against him for lack of a better phrase.. that eford didn't have..
1.) it may take some time for his conditioning to hit 100%.  I know he was working out on his own for the past few months but that's not that same as bumping chests and taking elbows from an opposing team
2.) many of the people around him aren't average either - it will take a bit more to distinguish himself

that being said, the reports are certainly very positive and it is difficult to not imagine him getting significant playing minutes this season and quite possibly a starter role by around conference play.

oh man.. 31 hours and 16 minutes!! anyone stoked??????? (edited for math - apparently my higher education facility skipped over adding in it's required curriculum  :-[).

I was just worried that game time had been changed.  I drive from the north burbs of Chicago and need to plan in advance for game times.

I hope not.  Eford made a great splash during his freshmen year but it seemed like he never got better.  I believe he came in at a higher level than most freshmen but his ceiling was at about the same level.  I am hoping that Hayward comes in at a high level but also improves during his stay here.

Looking at this thread, we should have a countdown meter for the tip-off on top of the page.
