Does anyone actually know who 4everwarriors and Knight Commission are?  I am willing to wager they wore red on Saturday.  How any MARQUETTE fan could walk away from this game disappointed is just amazing.  UW is a good team, and MU beat them.  MU absolutely owned them in the second half yet these two are disappointed in the result and cracking jokes at Buzz's expense.  Either they are not MU fans or they are the most negative nancies that I have ever seen.

It is possible to be an MU fan without drinking the kool-aid.

Is it possible to feel like a win against a ranked team is a thing that should be celibrated not complained about without being told that you are 'drinking the kool-aid'.

My complaint is that Notre Dame lost at home. I wanted to end their home winning streak that started after we beat them.

The game was played in Indianapolis, not in South Bend.

MR.HAYWARD

silly chico he is reffering to Notre dame "losing last year becuase we only beat them by three, using Knight commision stupid argumnet.  Also, the very fact that you watch a boxing match on Saturday over the MU gmaes now fully and completely disconts for me anything you say to aabsolutely $0.00

Uhm, newsflash.....I was there Haywire.  In Vegas.  At the MGM.  I didn't have much of a choice to tell HBO that I needed to watch the MU game when I was there on their dime.  It wasn't a matter of choosing the fight over the MU game, I was there on business.  And with tickets at face value at $1000.00, I'm not about to say "can I skip this to watch a Marquette game".  Sorry pal, that's not how it works.  Tim, Kevin and Rob sent me updates on the blackberry so I knew what was happening.  I was there in spirit and watched it yesterday when I got home.

Anything else you would like to add Haywire?

And I apologize for the Notre Dame comment if it was incorrect.  If I don't see teal, I assume it's legit.   You should put all your messages in teal as a courtesy to everyone.  And what the hell is a discont? What is a gmaes?

By the way, VEGAS IS ABSOLUTELY DEAD right now.  The economy is killing them.  Tables open aplenty.

According to Knight Commission, we ended that streak last year, by virtue of a three-point loss.

I wonder if someone already chalked this up as a loss.

I saw the context, and his statement was a bit extreme.  But I'm sick of hearing about 'kool-aid' it has become the default come back that everyone uses whenever anyone is positive about anything.

How come nothing you say ever makes any sense/is constructed in a grammatically acceptable way/contains the slightest concern for the proper spelling of words?

I'm not down on the team at all.  I also agree that criticism is important... obviously.

I just don't particularily care for people who think an organization can do no wrong... or for that matter, no right.

I don't know who that would be.....you'll see below I had it as a win over Wisconsin.  MU is more talented, this is the weakest Wisconsin team in a few years, home game for MU, no athleticism for UW.  I'm honestly having a tough time seeing Wisconsin finish too high in the Big Ten this year.  4th or 5th sounds about right after seeing them play.

Here were my predictions:

http://marquettebasketball.blogspot.com/2008/11/cracked-sidewalks-predictions-for-2008.html

I didn't predict our first loss until at Tennessee.  I have us losing at NC State, also, but definitely had a win over Bucky.  Which I'll be watching live on tv in case you are wondering Haywire.

Yah - they gave up so much athleticism from LY.  Those guys were showtime last year.

BTW - I have us going undefeated - we can beat anyone

Well, the loss of Flowers and Butch was pretty big in my opinion.  An athletic guard and a pretty athletic 7 footer (as far as 7 footers go).  Even the Stiemsma loss, though not very athletic, hurts them a bit.  Wisconsin is inexperienced at some key spots this year and they have difficulty with athletic teams (Duke last year, MU both years, UCONN, Davidson).

I don't think we can beat anyone, certainly not UNC.  I don't think we can beat UCONN either, but it will be fun at home giving it a try.

Should be a fun year, but rest assured I didn't chalk this up as a loss as you had implied.   ;)  Any win over Bucky is a good one.  Especially in a year where we should have beaten them.  It would have been disappointing not to beat this Wisconsin team who hasn't been that great if you look at their results thus far.

The athleticism of Brian Butch is a bit of a myth. He may have been athletic as a 17-year-old, but then he got to Madison, bulked up and became a bit of a stiff.
Bucky definitely is a lesser team this year, but I'm not sure they're a less athletic team.

I'll bet you a thousand dollars that Wisconsin finishes higher than 5th in the Big Ten this year.

But I do agree that they are not as good this year.  However, I think they have the potential to be better as the year goes on.  I actually think they are more athletic than last years team and have the potential to be very good.

BTW - How awesome would it be to have Nankivil (sp?) right now?

Well, I did say 4th or 5th.  Will you bet me a 1000 dollars they finish higher than 4th this year....that might be worth taking.   ;)

The Iona game was the first clue to me that they aren't like the teams they've had in the past.  San Diego and Long Beach State weren't exactly show stopping performances either.  It's not hard for me to see Purdue, Illinois, Michigan State, Michigan, Ohio State giving them fits this year.  Minnesota is pretty good.  Even Penn State and Northwestern are much better then in years past.

Hey Mark,

Can we get any Warrior recruitng updates from the area on 2009 and younger kids?

Game, set, match, ChicosBailBonds! I would have skipped the game and followed along on my phone just like you. No way would I miss the fight on HBO's dime.

No worries Chicos.  I like giving you a hard time and I know you bleed blue and gold.  You have been wrong on so many non-basketball subjects(ahem, ahem), I just like to point it out with Bball.

Just on the timing....I predicted a certain guy (ahem ahem) would be carted off in handcuffs a few years ago.  Finally happened today....Thank God!   ;)

Predicting the future arrest of an Illinois governor is a bit like predicting rain in Seattle.
