While you're at it, you could complain about the lack of rain in the desert or the wind in Milwaukee.  I prefer to focus on something the players and coaches can actually control.

To paraphrase coach Green, we are who we thought we were.
It sure doesn't rain enough in the desert and it can get pretty windy in Milwaukee - especially downtown.

Hey, he asked what we could complain about, so I told him.  Just because we can't change it, doesn't mean we can't complain about it.  I've heard thousands of people complain about Milwaukee's weather.
I'm thrilled we won.  It's tremendous.  Let's keep improving and working hard.  But if someone asks what we're going to complain about, it kind of opens the door doesn't it?

Neither. A win by three at home is equivalent to a loss.
Man, I've got to take back all of my celebrating after Mason hit that corner jumper to beat Louisville in 2004, considering it was apparently an 81-80 loss that day.

UW was ranked, what 22. A team led by 4 seniors, with the experience they have---a near sweet 16 team---should be at least close to a top 10 team this year. You people are satisfied with a marginal 3 point win over a depeleted Wico team at home????

Dude. This team will underachieve throughout the season like they have the entire season thus far. We should hve won by 20, period, with the existing talent on the floor.

Dude, are you serious??? Either your really overrating this MU squad or significantly downgrading UW. I would give MU the edge in these areas: PG, SG & SF. UW has the edge at PF, C, bench and coaching.

Landry is a better player than Hayward. I though MU defense on Landry was the difference in the game ... Great job by both Hayward and Matthews. How good would Keaton look on this MU squad ... The difference between him and Burke is like day and night. Also, UW is able to bring a player with the skill set of Luer off the bench.

In this rivalry, a win is a win.  Your argument is bizarre at best.  Either set of fans would take a lifetime of guaranteed 1 point wins.

Im not saying dont celebrate. Just take off the rose colored glasses and recognize this team has undeperformed thus far. We should be undefeated right now.

95% of all Div 1 coaches could have coached this team to this record. We are underachieving people. I contribute in part to have the school hire a coach who can motivate a team to perform better than expectations.

Yep, I bet in February if we are a bubble team the competition committee will look at this game and see that we only one by three and will eliminate us based on that.

... or it will be listed among our good wins and be used as a reason we should be in.  One of the two.

True. Yet Dayton is comforted in knowing they have a coach that can motivate a team to over perform. We have not seen that in any (any) game thus far.

so if we win every game by 3 points, no matter the team, should all those be considered losses? and who says we are such a great team now, its the same team, but it was a much better game than the one vs dayton. we are taking this game to game, mean while you're using your benchmark you set for the team as your basis.

No. But if we played this game on a neutral site, odds are we would lose. That's dissapointing with the talent/experience we have.

Why should we take this season game by game? These seniors have three years experience, and nearly a sweet 16 in their cap.

This is not a team who needs game by game experience. We should be dominating these weak opponets---especially at home.

Ok fine I stand corrected. I should have said "weaker" with respect to UW-Madison.  We should have won by more than three at home against a weaker opponent.

But we should have beat the weak opponents, like Texas Southern, Central Michigan, Chicago St., by more than we did.

Damn me for condemning Buzz Williams' coaching ability.

Good thing it was at home then, huh?

G'night!

Had you seen Dayton's fortunate OT win over a bad Auburn team last week, you wouldn't be saying such silly things.

How is Wisconsin "depleted"? They had, what, 15 guys in uniform? No injuries. That's a very good club.

TallTitan34

Woah what's your problem?  What point total would have been sufficient for you?  You realize we were up 9 before all the standard end of game stalling and fouling occurred?   You also realize we have a short bench until Fulce and Otule return?

really??? are we 6-2 now or 7-1 i forgot cause i can't count. also wisconsin was ranked a head of us, so i don't know where you thought this was a loss. a win is a win, we have to work on things but to complain about a win against a good team is nuts, they aren't houston baptist or something.

+1.  I'm all for the argument that on the road a win is a win and you take it anyway it comes, but at home you can feel more open to critiquing performance because you should play better.  But this was a team ranked ahead of us, with an experienced coach, and a frontline that could/should have given us more trouble based on our track record.  Nothing that we haven't already seen to add the our list of disappointments/needs improvements.  But the defense, particularly in the second half, McNeal's dominant effort, Hayward's rebounding ability, Burke showing some ability to defend a post player that will be desperately needed etc. are all positives to take out of it.

Uh...we only won by three at home with the best team we will have in the next decade.....

This team continues to be a disappointment. End of story.

wow! you are absolutely !@$%^*! ridiculous. what in the past has made you think we should have ever blown-out bucky? (and by the way were would have one by 6 if it wasn't for a late thrown up 3). You obviously do not know anything about this team to even say they are a disappointment - shut up about Dayton, unexpected losses come every year to every team, go check MU's record. Im sick of dumbass comments like this, our best recruiting class in a decade is coming in next year so get cheery and start being positive after a solid win that showed many positives.

In the 2002-2003 Final Four season #13 Marquette only beat unranked Wisconsin at Bradley Center by 9.

We were up 9 tonight before we killed the clock and they started fouling.
