The idiots who run the DC alumni group are having a "joint" party with the uw-reds for tomorrow night.  my wife does not want us/me to attend--even though it is at a great sports bar, crystal city sports pub--something about me getting into a fight.  anyway, wondering if anybody else out there was planning on a different metro dc location for game watching.  i was thinking about the grand slam sports bar--where they used to have game watching parties, or the penn quarter sports tavern.  obviously i will need to check if they have the U and will show the game.  if somebody else has an idea or already has a group going somewhere, we'd love to meet up to watch the game with other MU fans.

The same thing happened last year with an MU alumni group.  Does anyone remember if it was the DC group or a different group?

nyg

It was the DC area group and was at the Crystal City Sports Pub.  I didn't go, but recall the conversations regarding it.

The Denver group does it every year too.  Speaking of which, in case you don't get the e-mails, they're meeting at the Blake Street Tavern:

Also, if you plan on going, Denver is having a parade of lights downtown tomorrow night, which means lots of the streets will be closed, so plan accordingly if you're heading to Blake street.

"Joint" and "Badgers"?  If there are "free" shoes or parrots involved too, my advice is to leave before the cops get there.

GO_MU02

The DC group did the same thing last year.  There was a small group watching at Baileys in Ballston last year if I recall correctly.  I'm sure they'll have the game on over there.

A UW joint party wouldn't be complete without someone selling grilled cheese sandwiches.

Tom Crean's Tanning Bed

Yup.  Same thing the last 3 years I've been told from the DC alumni crew members.  Good ole Peggy Sue, the dual MU/UW alum.

I'm sure SCDem@MU and some of the other ones know EXACTLY whom/what I'm talking about :-)

I know exactly who you are talking about.  But you shouldn;t call her out like that...she actually volunteered to help plan MU events.  While I think the idea is misguided, she shouldn't be mocked because of it.  If anyone has a major problem with it, they should volunteer next year to organize it.  Since I am too lazy to volunteer, I just go to an alternate bar with my group of friends.  no big deal.

Norm

So, has there been an alternative bar agreed upon? The Penn Quarter Tavern? I'm sure we can get the game on at the Hawk-N-Dove, which is close to where the Les Aspin program students live.

The Lens

You guys are idiots.  As a frequenter of the Cocktail Party and the old traditional Iron Bowl, there is nothing better than a 50/50 crowd.

What are you afraid of?  And getting in a fight?  You're either 10 or from Beverly.
