Not sure why we are no longer on the list, but seems like his recruiting changes by the day.

Young guard Chris Colvin, the top uncommitted player in the state's class of 2009, will announce his college choice at a press conference at Young on November 19.

According to his father Ike, Colvin has made his decision. The final five schools came down to Illinois, USC, Washington State, Iowa State and Providence.

"He'll be an immediate impact recruit for any of the schools on that list and I would include Illinois with that," recruiting analyst Roy Schmidt said.

Colvin followed an up-and-down junior season with a fabulous summer. He and Warren guard Brandon Paul are generally considered the best players in the state's senior class.

Paul committed to Illinois last year and is expected to sign a letter of intent on Wednesday. Adding Colvin to Illinois' 2009 recruiting class, which includes former Peoria Central guard DJ Richardson, Sterling guard Joseph Bertrand and 6-9 Tyler Griffey from Missouri, would be a huge coup for Bruce Weber.

"I'd be interested in knowing why Marquette isn't on the list," Schmidt said. "He took an official visit there. Let's wait and see what happens. Things seem to change on a daily basis. At this point anything is possible. I would still expect the unexpected."

I would imagine MU is not on the list because of the lack of scholarship slots we have for 2009-2010

Correct----Colvin is a pure PG and to his credit Buzz's offense is not that PG friendly-----more friendly to bigs which means he'll be able to get some quality bigs in here in the years to come.

What makes you say that?  I understand they don't have the bigs that they'd like to have right now, so the offense they run now won't necessarily match what they run when Buzz has his recruits in, but it looked to me like Buzz made sure they spread the court well.  I liked their spacing, and thought it opened the lane nicely.  I noticed that when the guards penetrated their wasn't a big guy standing in the alley to crowd the lane.  I haven't seen or read enough to draw a comparison to any other team, but it looked like a standard 4 or 5 out motion depending on who was in the game.

Per Bullseye, the kid has way too many handlers so I am not surprised that his list changes daily.  Hopefully, the kid will make a decision that is best for him and the everyone around him.

Uh, Murff, don't tell Junior your theory on the MU offense. Perhaps the fact MU is already bringing in one of the top PG prospects in North America has influenced Colvin's decision.

MUFan has it right on...Colvin's list has been a chameleon since the summer began.

Looks like Colvin's list has changed again.  He talked to Scout after this article was written for the Sun-Times, and now says he will choose from "Iowa State, Providence, Illinois, Marquette, USC or UConn".

From Scout this morning...

10:32 a.m. Chris Colvin's complicated recruitment has taken another turn. On Monday he told Scout.com that he would commit on Signing Day, now he's going to commit and sign on the last day of the signing period, November 19th. Colvin is looking at Iowa State, Providence, Illinois, Marquette, USC or Connecticut. (ED)

Should be interesting to see how this plays out should MU not sign any new recruits this week.

Obviously basing his decision on who other schools sign.
