Under the category Stock Rising, they put DJ's name.

"Dominic James, PG, So., Marquette
The 2007 NBA draft looks amazing in all but one area: point guard. It appears that there won't be one lottery-caliber point guard prospect for a second straight year.

The best of the group appears to be James. He isn't a pure point guard, a great perimeter shooter or even quite 6-foot, but his combination of athleticism, strength, defensive prowess, scoring ability and explosiveness have scouts intrigued.

Given the new uptempo style of play in the NBA, James should be a good fit as a mid-to-late first-round pick. "

I just don't see it.  If thats where he is gonna get drafted he should stay in school for another year.

What-Would-Wade-Do

It's seems likely that he'll leave, considering there's one more player on next years roster than available scholarships.

Then again, TC could take advantage of his ability to make players transfer.

The hype is building----one advanatghe he will have in the NBA is not having to play against zones all the time! Zones really frustrate him!

so there goes that argument. DJ is no Travis Diener. Travis has made himself into an NBA player. DJ right now is an NBDL player.

At this point, he is a late first round pick to an early second round pick.  He's got the rest of the season to raise his stock which might get him between the 12-17 range.  To do that, he's gonna have to back up the hype of a preseason all-american which he hasn't shown yet this season.  His better bet is to stay another year, fix the flaws in his game, and try for the lottery in 2008.

At this point, I'd rather have a healthy Travis on this team.  Travis showed the ability to play consistently game in and game out and to lead a team.  I haven't seen that from DJ.

I don't care about James' NBA potential. His job as the Marquette point guard is to run our offense and try to get people involved. I don't see how he is given the green light to fire up three pointers. Since when does a college team put a player's "NBA stock" ahead of what's good for the team? Does anybody recall Wade trying to do things he wasn't really capable of? Diener? Novak (maybe he posted up a few times, but it was harmless)?

And frankly, given his extremely poor three point percentage, I'm surprised James hasn't realized that he's better off trying to get to the basket...unless he's hesitant to get to the free throw line.
