Marquette Madness details

Written by: Todd Rosiak

College basketball teams can officially begin practicing three weeks from today, on Oct. 17.

But because of fall break, the Marquette Golden Eagles will host their annual 'Marquette Madness' event eight days later, on Oct. 25 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Al McGuire Center.

At this point, the event is to feature introductions for both the men's and women's teams, a dunk contest and a scrimmage.

There will also be t-shirt giveaways, and the new men's intro video will be shown.

Admission is free to the public.

One recruit expected to attend is 6-foot-9 Serbian power forward Sasa Borovnjak of Veritas Christian Academy in Fletcher, N.C. There are sure to be other recruits in attendance as well, and I'll try to bring those names to you as the date approaches.

Wes scares the hell out of me every year when he jumps over stuff.  What scares me more is he jumps over something larger each year!

well, This year I have a feeling he won't be pulling out all the stops. On this past Tuesday he was in a short boot. On Friday, he had a full size boot on. He says he's fine and there's nothing to worry about, which is what he says about all of his and his team's injuries, but I'd hope that Buzz would make sure he's taking it slow.  No need for him to re-aggravate this by jumping over something really big.

right after Buzz rides in on a bull.

now that would be cool.  way better than an atv.

Crean needs to join the MMA circuit.  I'd pay big bucks to see Tom Crean vs. George St. Pierre in a cage.   Crean's secret weapon would be the head butt with his ginormous forehead.
