Buzz is definitely throwing out offers to everyone, very similar to Crean's approach.  Deane only put a few out there and Ryan also only throws a few out there.  Definitely different approaches, as long as they are successful that's fine by me.

I've read that coaches will often recruit players from decent programs that they have little chance of getting just to get known by the HS coach and all the other players in that program.  That includes giving an offer to one of their players.  

True?

If so, how many of these offers are part of the process of Buzz and his new assistants "getting known" by HS coaches and all the other players they will need to know further down the road?  

Bo is a known quantity as is his program.  He is not recruting nationally so he should have a different approach.  He only needs to offer to who will come and who he wants.

Michigan won the NCAA in 88 or 89 (?) and Rice was a senior so the HS kid fits the timeline and yes some of us are getting old.

It looks like that is true - recruits are "listing" MU now - or it seems.  We don't actually hear much official stuff fromt the Buzz camp

Who is the "someone" since it's against the rules for anyone from the administration to publicize any recruits before they have signed.  If you mean local recruiting experts, I think they are still doing their similar wink and a nod.

+1.  Since Travis Henry blew all his money on cars and jewelry, I hear he's going to give back to his alma mater by giving their football team an entire recruiting class.

I think the difference is that people were looking every possible reason to hate on crean.  And one person made up the 'as opposed to the media whore crean, buzz keeps things quiet' statemen.  And then everyone on this board instantlly repeated it over and over till they thought it had some factual meaning. 

It's called the information age for a reason I guess.
